JineTC Added a reply to Stock Yamahas in the works bike age
6/19/2017 1:44pm Curiously, there is an insightful article in the current Cycle News issue, pages 130-131 on that day in Castle Rock and RJ's boast to "go out in a blaze of glory". Cycle News #23

JineTC Added a reply to Chuck Sun in Australia- CD 13
6/16/2017 5:25am Nice pic of you then! I don't recall the Kramer; I wonder if it had been available to Ake would he have changed brands? The swingarm even looks a bit Monocrossish. I recall his Yamaico and his partiality to those Maico forks. Thanks for the further record of the event. Great pics and memorable hardware.

6/15/2017 5:01am I'm crazy with jealousy right about now. It's good to see Chuck in gear and looking healthy and young for his age. Is that Daryl on the Suzook? Love the tricked-out Elsie also; "sano"! Thanks for sharing the event!

6/14/2017 5:38am That's a great story cvm and I can relate to your last statement, for certain! I've always been "number conscious", and use ancient national numbers to help me remember numbers presently as needed. J. Ellis' #37 is his most significant to me and so I think of him if I need to remember that number; numbers 14 or 27 both...

6/13/2017 7:43am Yeah, I figured that was a "newly acquired, yet to be unloaded" pic, but wonder if owner knew about Smith. My last MX bike was an '87 CR250 in '87; ENJOY!

6/24/2016 4:28am Thank you for that addition, sgthubbard. That is a great tribute in itself, and a great pic of DeWayne on Elsie #60. I'm envious of your memories there; my closest association was being a long-distance customer of Jones Motocross Products.

6/23/2016 5:13am Forgive me if I overlooked the announcement of this at Vital, but this should certainly be noteworthy to the old-timers here, and very sad to read of. Cycle News Article Godspeed, DeWayne. My sincere condolences to the Jones family.

JineTC Added a reply to Favorite picture of one of your vintage bikes?
6/8/2016 7:00pm Excellent in both eye and memory, speedman. I don't recall the origin of the fork aircaps, but the swingarm mod was performed by Cycle Products West for a total of $30.00, including shipping to Florida. The Bilsteins ran $114.35, and I recall their heim joints being a big selling point. That mod really did make a tremendous improvement in the...

2/16/2016 3:49pm Yeah, Tommy. Tommy also:

'78 RC500s all, all taken at the final round of the AMA MX National Series at Sunshine Speedway. Marty seemed to be relieved that the season was over.

2/14/2016 2:06am That's a cool story and background, Bearuno. What's interesting to me is that you're so well-tuned and informed on the American motocross scene from forty years ago. I threw that Jone/Islo image in wondering if anyone would recognize who and what was featured. Your ID'ing it and being from Australia says a lot!

2/14/2016 2:06am Fellows, I thought of you all when going through some stuff and found an image I'd saved from an MXA issue from March of 1976. My best guess is this is from Lake Sugar Tree, second moto based on the lighting. Not a scan but a photo, hopefully it's considered worth the sharing. Sorry about the staple holes and middle...

2/12/2016 3:04pm I think I can vaguely recall at least one image from that photo sequence. Reading MXA and Dirt Bike Magazine as a teen sealed my quirky humor, sense of wit and writing style for the rest of my life, or at least to the present. I'm grateful for the influence they had, and wonder how much they've changed to fit...

2/12/2016 5:11am Livermore, hmmm, sounds right. The H-D is Staten's, and you've got a good eye, that is Gary on the Jones/Islo. The Maico was that of Mosler's. Living in the past, a great Tull title and also very rewarding.

JineTC Added a reply to T Shirt from the collection. Guess the year
8/20/2014 3:35am That's a great t-shirt collection you have there dynohut, you have me outdone and outclassed. I posted an image of mine a while back, found after thinking for years they were forever lost. Sadly I know many others are forever lost. Among those are a few Hang Tens (still have one Honda-ish one), a "The more I learn about women...

8/13/2014 1:45pm GOTT I'm inclined to agree with Michael. Perhaps this would be appropriate in the Moto-Related forum also, but I'm not sure they could handle it. Even if they could, I'm not sure that I could handle the results. I something of the opinion that there was one GOAT in the world of motocross that I'm aware of, last name Breker.
