The real Sasquatch Liked a reply to forum topic In the market for a new helmet

I wore Shoie forever. I started selling Alpinestars helmets and I had one instock in my size that i was thinking about selling myself. The time came to grab a helmet and at first I grabbed my trusty Shoei. Not the current generation, the previous one. After putting it on, I pulled it right off and wore the Alpinestars. I have 2 SM8's they fit the same as the 23 and older SM10. And they fit me much better than the Shoei's. A little harder to pop onto my head. But after its on , is super comfortable and vents...

I am currently at $4400 spent (including price of bike).. In the process of building the stock hubs into new wheels (cerakote hubs, black spokes and warp rims) but that is going to take some time and the spokes I want are on back order. For now I bought this KKE brand- quality wise they look pretty decent (comparing to many other sets of wheels I have at home). Reviews are good from folks who own them (and not so good from people who don’t own them). Maybe I’ll leave them on and use the other set for a different...

There has been a lot going on with this build- cleaning, restoring and buying parts, parts and more parts. Had a handful of parts Cerakoted. Things should start coming together soon. The main issue is the bike came in pieces and as I put things back together I am finding what’s missing / worn and placing orders for new parts..the oddest things are missing.

This is going to come down to personal preference, obviously. That being said, I have always been in the camp that thinks a 125 is probably not the best choice as a primary bike, but the absolute best choice as a secondary bike. I always keep one in the fleet and probably always will. But the few times that I have ran one primarily, as an adult, I usually ended up switching to something else. I think a 350 would be a good choice. The 22 is the prior gen which is a good bike, so I would make sure...

Longtime 350 rider. Hopped on my sons 125 to spin a few laps earlier this year. I know a lot of people say about the fun factor of a 125 but for me it wasn’t very fun 😂. Once you go 350 (which is a night and day jump from your 125) I doubt you’ll go back. With your size the 350 will be more enjoyable to ride I think. It’ll take some getting used to the power difference but coming off your bike that’s unforgiving of mistakes you should rip on the 350. Good luck! The 22 was an...

Thank you, I was trying to understand in layman's terms what MIPS did and why I should care about it
This forum topic has 56 replies.
To answer more technically the MIPS tech helps prevent a rotational brain injury which is one of the worst you can have so the answer is it worth it would be yes. I wear a FLY personally and they have their own helmet tech (adaptive impact system) that is similar to the MIPS tech. Go to a local motorcycle dealer...

Thanks for posting that. The fact that the family of the girl has let the kid on the 125 "off the hook" so to speak, says a lot about their character. I truly hope the word gets out to whatever assholes feel the need to add insult to injury by sending hateful messages and threats to a family that's already suffered the tragic loss of a child. They've been through the worst thing a family can go through, and now they have to listen to that kind of bullshit ? It makes me sick to my stomach honestly. Talk about...

The displacement rules and ban of leaded fuel killed the 2 stroke in the pros but that’s a seperate discussion. The issue is electric vs ICE right, and we’re really talking Stark vs the 4 stroke at the moment if we’re talking in present tense. Here’s Forkner speaking on the issue and he had some good points.
Ya makes sense. I’m sure they can fool test riders with internal gear ratios, and front and rear sprocket gearing but ultimately they’re just comparing 7 bikes in stock form and how they feel on the same track trying to clear the same jumps. I think the Kawi and Honda will both improve in the engine department on the ‘26...
Okay one last reply, I went and removed that claim from my previous post about it being unsafe because it was getting away from the real issue, it was a side note on top of my only real issue which you obviously either disagreed with or completely ignored which is that it ruins the integrity of the race. Even you...
I’m going to stop engaging now because you’ve already stated you’re a 2 stroke guy, but yet you say it’s everyone else who needs to change and accept and embrace the electric future. This is going nowhere productive. My only real issue is that the Stark is clearly an unfair advantage vs ICE bikes and it will ruin the integrity...
