Nearly three years later, it's time to revive this thread.... Yesterday I re-acquired the infamous BooKoo CR250 race bike. I sold this bike in May 2021 because it spooked me, and was building another 250 at the time that I thought I'd be keeping long-term. Well I didn't, and felt bad that I let this former race bike go to someone who clearly wouldn't care for it. 2023 YZ450FX. It’s one of the best bikes I’ve owned. Great high speed stability, but still turns decent and has a good chassis. The bike really doesn’t need much to be really good, but I can’t resist testing different variations of parts and settings. Really happy with the motor, especially with the JL Smooth map and 14/52 gearing. First and second gear were useless with stock gearing, but 14/52 really spread everything out, which sounds counter intuitive to an already wide ratio gearbox, but it works well and the motor has plenty of power to pull a tall 4th and...

I picked up a nice 2002 CR250 a while back complete with the original plastic and fairly low hours. I intended to just do a basic rebuild/mild engine build and ride it as is but opportunity came and knocked the door down.

Almost exactly 11 months ago, I was lucky enough to meet a very talented Dutch rider who was at a crossroads- he was either going to get a good ride or quit racing to attend college full time. The lesson here is, don’t EVER give up on your dreams, no matter how far out of reach they seem at any given time. Congratulations my friend on your first major title, we are so proud of you!!!

I actually really like the idea of making the base bike have a basic cable clutch that you could upgrade to a factory level hydraulic if you want to pay extra for the add on. Smart! Some of us just prefer the cable.

GYTR kitted bike looks nice, an additional hydro clutch that looks similar to what the MXGP and MX2 teams use aswell???

The best thing is all you Americans that are saying that this is a second rate retirement series, guess what, you don't have to go. This is for us, we will take what we can get. We will welcome any rider to the gate with open arms, racing is racing.
