Almost exactly 11 months ago, I was lucky enough to meet a very talented Dutch rider who was at a crossroads- he was either going to get a good ride or quit racing to attend college full time.

The lesson here is, don’t EVER give up on your dreams, no matter how far out of reach they seem at any given time.

Congratulations my friend on your first major title, we are so proud of you!!!

Brent, being a dutchman myself I was so stoked on the opportunity and support that you provided Rick last year. I have been following him since then and the work he puts in is impressive!

Gefeliciteerd Rick!

That is awesome and Brent, really cool of you being a big part of that journey!

Hope he stays grounded and remembers the people that were part of the road to success

To be honest, also big respect to Brent that he did all what he did for Rick Elzinga, going back to the topic their where a ton of doubters and they didn't hesitate to show their doubt in any way...

Rick you did great! You deserve that championship, and Brent enjoy being in Holland and France and at the MXGP-scene!

Thank you- you were a big part of this as well by putting me in contact with Rick through vital Mx.

I dont think I’m spilling any secrets here, but for 2023 Rick will able to continue to go after championships at the next level.

congratulations Rick!!!

Is he going to do the Turkish MXGP?

Or, perhaps Iron Man or Pala?

I would assume so. Three man team with Geerts, Beninstant and Elzinga.

I believe Benistant is there for one more year and then coming to US the next year. Congrats to Rick, but he hasnt been the same rider after he raced MX2 in Sardinia IMO.

I thought that myself. Did he suffer from heat exhaustion or sumthing?

I personally haven’t spoke to anyone at the team about it, but to me, that’s what it seemed like. Just seemed that since then, he struggled to get on the podium. Maybe heat exhaustion, maybe more focused on securing the championship. But he was really good at the beginning of the year then seemed to drastically change since then. But, I guess he did well enough to to get the job done.
