alpinestars are still made in italy. quality is good, but not great, i agree. fit is very subjective tho. i think i'd have liked my sg12's if i'd had a size smaller. a little clunky in the toe, i thought.

nope! gaernes run bigger than sidi's or alpinestars. i've owned sg10, sg12, crossfire ta and tech 10's. i'd go a half to whole size smaller in the gaerne or same size as your tech 8 in the sidi. buy the crossfires, they're way better, but don't buy white because they discolor.
