Seems like this day would never come, but yesterday I became the proud owner of a MF 2135 skip loader with a bucket and gannon. I am so stoked you dont even know. I moved out to AZ to have property to ride on and now have the equipment to make my backyard MX track. Yes!! I have some other projects that will keep me busy till march but I am thinking I should have my track done before summer. I use to work with Marc Peters (a mx track builder) so fortunately I have a clue of what to do. Of course vital motoheads will be welcome anytime.

I started mine when I was 16 and I am now 27, def. a lot of work but it is a labor of love.
Mine started out as a cow pasture that the farmer across the street rented; they moved their cattle and my folks said I could have a corner of it to ride my dirt bike on. While they were gone one weekend my buddy brought his bull dozer over, and it’s been a work in progress from that day on. My favorite thing to do is work on my track........

I can't go by an empty field w/o envisioning how I would build an mx track on it.

Cygnus this is not my first rodeo as I have worked with Marc Peters for several years building and maintaining tracks including the factory Kawasaki track in corona. I am very fortunate to have worked with one of the best track builders there is so I kinda know what to do, lol. p.s. trailer park boys rock.
I already have the "pad" setup with the proper slope for drainage and will be bringing the dirt from another part of the property not scraping it from the current location so running a blade is not as critical. I also have the choice to bring in dumptruck loads from the neighbors (that run a rock quarry). I am truly blessed and am living the dream. This is just gonna be a kickass practice track and not a huge public track. Thanks guys.

It took 50 hours with a 450 john deere dozer.
It took a little longer on this one than normal because they were in a severe drought and once you cut the dirt up it was like packing flour.
I shaped it all up and packed it in and suggested to the owner that they not ride on it until after it had some rain and dried out at least one time.
the owner shot those pictures afte they got some rain this past weekend and right before they really got to ride on it for the first time.
I put in 120' of drain pipe and directed all the water either through a pipe or at a place that would never be ridden on like right against the take off jump on the step up jumps.
If you look at the first, fourth, and closely at the fifth pictures you can see the bank graded on the uphill side of the track lanes to direct the water.
Even in a down pour the only water that will drain across the track is what hits that section.
after two days of slow steady rain last week there wasn't a single puddle and the only rain ruts was where we directed the water.
I even put in a catch basin to capture the topsoil that washes off from the corners so that they can get it and put it back to keep the corners loamy.
24 jumps, a whoop section, and 10 corners.
kind of proud of this one.
probably about 50 or 60 foot slope from the front to the back
.65 miles long
haven't gotten a lap time from them yet.
they just started riding on it yesterday afternoon.
