F451 Added a reply to Taddy Blazusiak jumps ship at Stark
1/17/2025 11:02am You guys know what a pivot turn is right? Well this is clearly a failed pivot turn, and it looks intentional to me. In the video you can clearly see him weighting the bike before yanking the bars and going full throttle. He pins it, look at his hand, arm, elbow, they go down very quickly. If he did it...

1/17/2025 10:48am The throttle sticks WFO on your CR500. Then you jump back on and ride back to the pits. Yeah, right.

Zoom Liked a forum topic Observations From Spain. Stark Test Ride & MXGP...
6/1/2022 12:41pm Well, I can't say anything about the Stark test ride until June 10.... Toured the Stark factory and was quite impressed. Spent some time in Barcelona and loved it! Then over to Madrid for MXGP. Getting my credentials was one of the most unusual experiences ever. We set the GPS to the address for the track and when we arrive its a high end shopping mall! As we are walking into the mall, there are a couple of people walking out of the mall with snowboards and wearing snowboard gear complete with helmets! We go into the mall and head...

F451 Started a new thread KYB China Suspension?
5/8/2020 10:55am Anybody know anything about the KYB suspension components coming out of China? Are they the same specs and quality as the regular KYB components on the Japanese dirt bikes? Sur Ron in China is claiming their soon to be released e-dirt bike, the Storm, is going to have KYB China suspension and I'm very curious if the suspension is comparable...

F451 Added a reply to KYB China Suspension?
5/8/2020 8:39am I never imagined my original post would get this much attention, wow. I actually thought someone might know something about the alleged KYB China suspension, so its interesting that we don't know anything about it at all. I expected some grief about Sur Ron's and electric bikes in general. I wasn't expecting China bashing but I can understand it. A...

5/7/2020 6:59am Agreed. I don't think anyone is expecting the Storm to be competitive with modern MX bikes, but it will be interesting to see how it does once its in customers hands. And yes, the rear suspension looks problematic, but I am reserving judgement, I've been wrong before about things I really don't know anything about.

5/7/2020 6:18am Lol, you guys are killing me here. So, it sounds like exactly no one here has heard of, seen, touched, or ridden on the alleged KYB China suspension. Very interesting. The Sur Ron Storm Bee (STORM BEE!!! Lol) should be in customers hands this summer. I'll try to remember to update this thread after the details on the bike are...

5/6/2020 4:04pm Dude you crazy risk taking thrill seeker going way out on that limb, Lol. I'm with you on this but I am curious to see what the Storm suspension is like when it comes out. There's plenty of high quality components coming out of China nowadays along with a bunch of garbage. Just depends on how its spec'd. So there...

6/7/2017 10:15am Regarding the "stealth, I'll be able to ride it everywhere (or at least in a lot more places) without bothering people" ideas, I agree this is huge and a major benefit. But be prepared, for trail riding, and possibly for tracks too, the anti-access crowd will still fight this bike tooth and nail, mark my words. I do think the...

6/7/2017 10:22am Ben, thanks so much for taking the time to do the awesome real world write up! The Alta sounds great, glad you're loving it. I'm pretty dang jealous (and I've got a garage full of awesome toys). I'm not in a position to be an early adopter, but I've been, and will continue to watch the development of electric dirt...

3/26/2017 10:19am Just wanted to follow up and add another data point here, about a month ago I bought a '16 Metris Cargo to use as a daily driver/moto hauler/weekend camper and ended up trading it in on a Ford Transit 250 after owning it for a couple of weeks. Basically it came down to feeling like I was driving a minvan...

2/11/2017 8:11am Some dimensions and specs I've been compiling for the Metris and Transit Commercial 150, regular length, low roof. I "think" these are accurate but have not taken a tape measure to confirm, so take with a grain of salt. And these are not the complete specs of course, just the ones that are important to me, for example overall hp/torque...

2/11/2017 7:54am For me the smaller dimensions of the Metris are better, it will fit in my home garage and commercial parking decks no problem, not sure the Transit 150 will fit in either. I need to get a tape measure on both the Transit Commercial 150 low roof, regular length, single rear wheel version (replacement for the old standard E150 more...

2/10/2017 9:19am Same deal in my HOA neighborhood in Duvall. Fortunately we can keep RV's and boats in our side or back yards, but they must be behind a "privacy" fence. I have both a horse trailer and class C RV in my side yard, NO privacy fence, but so far have not been called out by anyone. We're all friendly in...

2/9/2017 10:22am Yes it is. The lack of headroom is my biggest complaint with the Metris sized vehicles, along with no AWD version in the US. But I also value being able to park the thing in my home garage as well as commercial garages. The pop top resolves the standing room issue nicely as well as providing additional sleeping quarters (not...

2/9/2017 9:02am Short answer: Import it legally? Yes. Near impossible. The biggest consideration is whether or not the vehicle was ever sold new in the US. If not, its almost impossible to import them in unless you are prepared to go through full EPA compliance and mountains of paperwork and money. I did a lot of research on bringing vehicles into the...
