I don't know why we are viewing this as an event to promote the sport as if every public appearance Jett makes he is working for his employer or for the greater good of the sport. Some Privateer guys that have good sponsors and are good to their sponsors have even night show bonuses, so good chance Billy is one of those guys and was going to make more than just purse money to roll around one lap. 250 Moto 1: Curren Thurman got the holeshot but John Short passed into the lead quickly and led for the first part of the moto. Chandler Baker was on the move and passed Thurman for second then passed Short for the lead around half way through the moto. Henry Miller came from behind to finish 2nd and Scharer finished 3rd. Curren Thurman finished 4th. Ryder Floyd made it up to 5th. John Short must have really tightened up because he faded back to ~8th. Not sure how much he has been riding lately.
