Just got one too, and I completely agree. Suspension and turning are great and the low-end torque is abundant. I'm about 165 and my other bikes are all two stroke 250s. (Yes, I've taken a step onto the dark side, but so far, I'm loving it after 40+ years purely on two stroke race bikes).

I recently was able to ride my new Honda CRF250WE. I cannot believe how good of a bike this was. I also own a Honda CRF250R, but am very surprised how different these two bikes feel. The R has had a harsh suspension feeling, where the WE didn't have a hard hit for me at all. Also, I am not...

I noticed a few of you have motorcycle lifts... I would like to get one. Anyone uses the cheaper Harbor Freight ones? if so how have they worked? Also does anyone know of one with an electric lift vs air or hydraulic?

Thanks everyone for sharing their setups and feedback, I didn't really consider the 6 way blade on skid on how convenient that would be for berms. A little back story on where my question is coming from. I have owned a track that was on about 7 acres or so, I never really figured out the distance but it was...

As I mentioned before I do already own an International 756 tractor with a few implements so I am looking for something to move dirt with but I appreciate everyone's input.

There is a privateer who lives near me who maintains his track with a track skid steer using a regular and hydro bucket. He graded my front yard with the hydro bucket, those are a game changer.

If a person had around $40k to spend on machinery for maintaining a backyard track what would be the best? I am in heavy clay soil. I already have an IH756 tractor with some implements ie disc harrow, digger etc. I would like to use this equipment for snow removal and other tasks around the house property as well. I...

Cultivator and a pto rototiller. I have a clay based track in Northeast Pennsylvania, and let me tell you. When I get spoiled with a little bit of moisture before hand, the dirt is nothing short of spectacular. Usually what I do is rip the corners deep with a cultivator and then go over it with a pto rototiller. The corners get ripped super deep, and the straight aways are groomed nicely, but dont get rutty like the corners. Clay can be the best dirt you’ve ridden or hard as a rock depending on how dry it is. You either...

I’ve got clay on my private track to, but after maintaining the local track for close to 20 years and built a couple of privates i have just gone to accept that you should buy the right equipment for the kind of dirt that you got and more or less live with it. Mixing sawdust, sand and what ever is a never ending story that takes great amount of time and goes away really fast. We got horses so i get some sawdust over from the horses boxes, and i always put that on the track but the amount that...

I do own some of those woods, but its an ATV trail going through there. As Iridereallyslow mentioned, we like to keep that are full of underbrush help with the sound and to keep people that ride on those trails off of our track. Thankfully a highway is also near so it helps cover up the noise. I've had the...

Sawdust/wood chips. Heaps of that stuff they sell for chicken coops and horse pens works too. Basically the same material - pulverized wood chips. You can also mix in some decomposed granite and/or sand. I helped till a local private track that happened to be right down the street from a lumber mill. We would spread the wood chips throughout the track then run a tiller over it. You want small, finely chopped wood particles. No sticks, twigs, large chunks of bark.

Hey I’m looking for some input on how to make my private track soil conditions better. It is a clay track, but if I work the soil too much it turns into moon dust. Should I be mixing sand? Wood chips? I personally am a sand rider but I still like to be able to ride out of my shop...

I am from MN as well, I don't know much about the trails but have been to Texas, Florida and North Carolina for winter riding trips. Heading to 3palms in January and then Florida in March to ride. Message me if you want any input on tracks to checkout!
