Bandimere closing has nothing to do with Thunder Valley Motocross. I am surrounded by open space and a shooting range. No houses will be built near me. Worse case scenario there will be some industrial buildings in the future but that wont affect me. Next year will be the 20 annual Thunder Valley National and there will be many more...

I did a very similar tibia plateau fracture and had to deal with some of the things you described. I ended up getting a total knee replacement. Which isn't the end of the world it works great. I still race in the old guy class.

I had a knee replacement about 8 years ago and I just went in for a check up and the doc said I should get another 10+ years out of it. I race Motocross and just did a 2 hour Hare Scramble and my knee replacement feels great.

Somehow I stumbled on this thread a few years later. Daryl Dempster was a fast local pro here in Colorado. He might have had a support ride from Yamaha through Yamaha Denver. He was fast but not on the level of Tim Buchli, Stacy Cook or Albert Firestine.
