2016 HRC CRF450RW engine is back in one piece and ready for frame install. Just to recap... I completely disassembled the engine and replaced bearings and gaskets. Along with a new piston, rings, wrist pin. Inspected everything and cleaned her up! Then installed a new HRC hydraulic clutch slave cylinder and mounting bracket. EDIT: I forgot to include using a new OEM cylinder and OEM right center case. Unfortunately as I have said before, I won't be able to share any internal pictures of the engine. What I can do is tell you what parts are "works" and give...

So what type of throttle body were they using? I believe it was the KTM 44mm (Honda stock size is 46mm) under-mount fuel injector throttle body. KTM 250/350/450 use a 44mm. The use of this KTM throttle body was a common modification at the time (2015-2020) on other brands 250F's. In fact Twisted Development Racing used to offer this as bolt on package for 250F's Twisted Development Why do I think that's what HRC used on their 450's? Because of this... ... a HRC throttle body manifold designed for the CRF450RW head and the 44mm Keihin throttle...

I am starting another build.. the bike that transformed motocross, the 1973 Honda CR250M. There are a lot of nice builds out there and a few nice "survivors" out there with only modest impact of time on the paint, rubber parts and so forth, so to make this build distinctive, I am trying to build the bike with as many NOS parts as possible, including every original nut and bolt. This far, I have about 45% of the bike in new NOS parts. It is easier to list what I will reuse from an existing CR250M and need to make...

That’s a tidy looking exhaust, being from Australia I’ve never heard of the brand but it looks pretty trick. I’ve been following this build since day one so I’m stoked to see it coming together

What kind of riding are you planning on doing with this bike? You’ve put it on a pretty aggressive diet which is definitely very interesting to follow along but seems somewhat unnecessary for a XR250, are you chasing weight savings to have an edge in some kind of vinduro event or just because you can?

So since I stuck at them moment do to the dumb corona regulations in Germany. I got some time use the kitchen scale and verify some things. So the hotcam saved 69gs as it doesn’t use the auto decomposition unit. The cool thing I found out a while ago is that the WR250F starter motor will fit the XR250 MD30. There is just a small alloy bracket that has to be made to maintain the ground wire connection. Here the savings are 654g. Which gives us a total of roughly 6,568kg that have been saved so...

Suzuki gets the short straw from magazines and pros because they’re behind the rest of the field but to the average guy like you or I they’re hard to beat on price.
