It doesn't need to get dragged out. Its no secret that 2008 was a wild year for Reed.
That all depends on whether you are a true champion, or a bitter ex champion.

RC could pull things off on a bike that others couldn't. Not so with Stanton.
Chad should have been working the fields at the farm.
What IS Chad's dirty laundry in 08? I have never heard of any off track antics from the 22.
That's what's so chicken shit about the whole thing.
Lets face it we're not talking about him rolling a rental car, pulling over off duty cops or getting busted with drugs. Let these guys have a personal life, Chad speaks honestly enough as it is, i personally have no desire to know anything further about his life than what he already puts out there.
Stanton has no right to bring anything like that up, he was approached to talk about the season so far and he took it there without any prompting from the interviewer. Pussy move on his part.
Exactly.
I just think it was uncalled for, but then i also don't need to know about everything these guys do and think they deserve some privacy even though they are semi public figures.
Pit Row
Some will say it's the power of magic rocks. Others will say it's the power of self-belief. Only Chad knows the truth.
Don't really understand stanton's motives , maybe he was such a dudley do right that "bottom of the barrel" was eatin at mcdonalds or not going to church every week..............
People who react to such candor probably have a closet full themselves. Or maybe Jeff reminds them of someone they don't like.
I lost respect for Stanton in a Motoworld interview when he retired. Larry Miers floated the softball question of "who do you see out there among the young riders to watch..". and Stanton actually replied, in his strait-faced no-emotion way "nobody".
The guy had just had his ass handed to him for a year and half by the man who'd go on to become one of the most noted icon's of our sport and Stanton couldn't just give it up to him and say McGrath is a hell of rider.
So crap like this doesn't even really fall in the Bob Hannah category, it's just plain having no appreciation for other great riders.
I really dont think it was up to Stanton to talk about it.
Didnt Stanton pick Canard?
