Awhile back Matthes brought up that the supercross announcers on TV were calling the nationals the "outdoor summer series" and not the National Motocross series, so DC this week in Racerhead called Supercross the "the stadium motocross season is winding down" so what is going on between Supercross and the Nationals and the digs between the series?

Turn about is fair play, Supercross works so hard to make sure nobody and nothing gets promoted unless they pay for it that they won't even accurately name another series that doesn't even compete with them., just look at how they blurred out Pastranas Red Bull cap.

Funny thing is I used to refer to SX as a three ring circus, and then Barnum and Bailey showed up and took over. They must have seen it the same way I did.

You people sure like to try and decipher hidden meaning from other peoples writing. Did anyone hear the Dallas SX wrap up podcast where after attending the race DC praised the SX promoters for the whole presentation of the show?

So far this week the Vital overanalization team has decided that RX hates Alessi, KTM and SX.

What's with the announcers SX now employs? Are they getting these guys cheap? 'Cause they sure as heck don't sound as professional as what the sport used to have:

Who's going to announce the Nationals?

We still, after years, call it the "supercross" class and "supercross lites".

I'd like to meet the focus group that came up with that.

SX1 SX2, MX1, MX2. Done.

Allracing, sorry, no conspiracy to spin here -- and I was at the grassy knoll in Dallas last Friday checking out the Sixth Floor Museum where Lee Harvey Oswald did his firing (and yes, he acted alone).

The relationship between Feld and MX Sports is healthy and respectful, and they have done a great deal this year to promote the AMA Motocross tour, including live interviews with promoters or track folks on the stage (it was Freestone's Tom Shields last weekend) and excellent big-screen commercials for the outdoor tour... They rolled out the red carpet for all of the promoters at Atlanta for an NPG meeting and they continue to allow them to set up on the concourse or in the pits to promote their events. It's all much appreciated and we will do our best to help them promote things this summer

But I also hate saying the big, long proper names of any series more than once, so the summer motocross tour and the stadium motocross season are not little digs, just trying to save ink on the internet.... That's why I usually call this place "Vital" and not by its proper name, "www.vitalmx.com, a Guy B. Production, in association with Oscottie, and featuring 500Guy..."

See what I mean?

Back then they had Dave Despain and Larry Meiers do voice overs after the fact on the race footage and the races aired 6 months after they happened. I don't think they were even at the races, the only person who was ever filmed on the ground at the event was the field reporter. These days Ralph and Emig are at the races calling the action live to tape. You will always get more goof ups live vs. being in a tv studio working with scripts and editing.

Every time I hear Ralphs high pitched whimsy voice, it makes me wish Art Eckman was still announcing the races. He and Bailey were perfect for it.

hmmm...i would say MONSTER had the dibs on Pastrana's cap wouldn't you?

and SX's biggest mistake is getting CBS involved wouldn't you agree?

all for the sake of so-called 'progress'
