I'm eager to see how well he does on the bigger bike in SX this time around. Definitely hauls in the whoops.

Found this the other day.

While he was still in the thick of it for the AX series, he said that the team wanted to go SX racing, but that he wasn't even thinking about it until he got the job done on the AX side.

I was pumped to see him take the title after how it all went down last season, with a late injury while leading the series.

I remember when they had the first US open of supercross at the MGM Grand in Vegas and everyone was saying that the AX riders were gonna smoke the Supercross riders because it was such a tight track and the AX boys had that style of track wired. When the race qualifers started the AX riders rememberd why they were riding the arenacross series and not with the big boys because they got spanked. Bowers is fast but he is not supercross fast and I thing he will have a tough time making the main much less a top ten.

Didn't Antunez try to make a SX comeback after AX? If I remember right he didn't place as high as he probably wanted to.

Awesome to hear. I have been watching the AX races and found myself wondering if he would do an SX or two.

I look forward to seeing him ride.

It seemed that guys who did good in the 125 sx class Like Antunez and Jimmy Gaddis went and rode AX when they were on the way down in the SX world and both did great and won several championships each with alot tougher competiton . Now its a stepping stone class to the SX series so you have riders going up so they have no SX experience. I am sure some of them could do OK if they just rode the SX series and got some track time but I dont see any top ten finishes at least yet.

Tyler's 20 years old though, he still has plenty of time to make a name for himself in SX. Much the same as Brayton is doing now.

Remember when Darcy Lange kicked butt in AX and later that same winter he almost won a Lites SX title?

I'm thinking Tyler can do as good as Wey, Byrne, Regal and beat them if he gets a start...

been watching him in arenacross quite a bit. i think he has the endurance and speed to do well...i think his biggest challenge will be getting his bike right....whole different ballgame now. i'd slot him from 8th-15th if he makes main. I think he's better than the guys on the LCQ bubble but i don't think he'll hang with the 5-10 guys.

i'll make one prediction hehe...he'll finish above alessi. Tongue

Bowers absolutely dominated Reno, which for anyone that's been knows it's not a normal arenacross track, but rather each year a different and challenging layout. I think he'll do pretty damn well, he's a big boy and knows how to work his way forward.

Bowers will do fine at SX, He is talented enough, just injuries and a few other things that caused him to need to take what he could get.

He has the potential to top 10 and Outdoors top 5

He already made a swing through the 450s on a Honda and had trouble making mains. Maybe with a better bike and more experience that will improve. His former teammate and last years AX champ Demuth did about this same thing on an H&H backed KTM where he too had trouble making mains. It seemed like he was always dicing with Blose for the last transfer.

Couple of things

Blose currently sits 14th in points and has a 10th &11th place finish , He's also made every main this year.

I guess to you this sucks ?

2nd Bowers was nursing a broken wrist and kept coming back to soon because he needed to try and keep his support , This was the last time he raced SX, He is obviously older more mature and Healthy.

In 2009 on a 450 he made 10 mains, best finishes were two 15th's. 21st in points.
In 2008 on a 250F he ended up 6th in points with a couple of 5th's as his best finishes.

Not exactly a newbie at SX.

Anybody know how Lange is now (cancer free)? What is he up to now?

I respect anybody that breaks BOTH femurs (I didn't even know about that), and while I think he will qualify, I don't know if he will have any real impact on the race.

Lange is fine... I think he's working in construction with his family... He made quite a bit of money from AX so I believe he's healthy and wealthy and decided to stay away from racing to avoid getting hurt as he was happy doing other things...

1. he will not be in the Ti-Lube truck.
2. he'll be in the Rockwell semi.
3. he's made plenty of 450 sx mains and is even faster and more comfortable now.
4. a lot of you have no clue.

Slightly off topic, but TiLUBE just the same:
In the past few weeks both TiLUBE Racing's Team riders have been injured at the Supercross. First Matt Goerke crashed in Jacksonville with a shattered pelvis and wrist. In Dallas Matt Boni compound fractured his tibia and fibula. Both are expected full recovery. Team replacement riders are Cody Gilmore #374 and Bobby Kiniry #62. Be sure to stop by the truck and wish them luck at St Louis this weekend.

As long as he is healthy, I wouldn't be shocked to see him near the top five in at least one of the final races. The biggest reason he didn't come up through the 250 class in supercross is probably his size. He may need time to adjust but he is a talented 20 year old who knows how to win. He has the potential to be real fast, I just hope he doesn't get mixed up with any of the contenders. I'm sure there are some people that won't forgive him for things that happened when he was 15. (like people do to Mike Alessi)
