We have seen this too many times where he blows everybody off the track and then crashes his brains out in the main when really it counts.
That's the thing, I don't think he believes there are unnecessary risks. He is just riding like he normally does. I don' think he feels out of control. When you try to ride below or above where you are normally comfortable, more mistakes will happen.

Since everyone is so impressed with James heat, I feel the need to point out that both Canard and Dungey rode 8 laps faster than James. Canard 11, RD 7 or 8.

Not trying to take anything from James but that track didn't get a second and a half slower between heat 1 and 2.

Regardless of whether James lays wood to the rest of the field in the main, the real battles for the championship are going to be further back - RV, CR, RD.
