Casuals like you are clueless! Kitchen just won the SMX Championship on his Pro Circuit bike.

All the Prado fans here sure do.  I agree with you.

I’m a Prado fan.
But I do think an SMX championship is a bit Mickey Mouse..

Especially when two of the three possible landing spots have new bikes and no data and Chase is coming back from a knee injury.  Gonna be a busy next two months for #4.

Chase said he's going back to his roots, aka Pekin, IL (named after Pekin (Beijing), China).
JHL is launching in the US in November.  They already tested the waters in MXGP.

I wasn’t big on Jorge’s behaviour last year but from the moment they rolled out at A1 I became a fan. He put his money where his mouth was and did what was necessary to win.

I do agree but it does beg the question of why they sign with them after riding their bike?  A rider of their caliber should be able to tell if they are gonna be able to win on that bike.  When Tomac switched to Star, he said immediately he knew he could win outdoors and was confident they'd be able to find a good SX setup with testing.  He won everything that year.

How can riders like Sexton and Prado ride that bike before signing a contract and all of a sudden realize after they cant ride to their full potential on it?  There have to be talks about how much the team would be willing to do to make the rider happy and how far they will go to achieve that.

I think the blame has to be on the riders a bit too.  They should be able to know if that bikes gonna work for them or not before they sign

This question and statement comes up a lot, however i recently saw an interesting interview with Stefan Everts, in which he explained that he made this mistake many times himself. Testing all off season, only to turn up at round one and find the bike wasn't where he needed it.

If a 10 time world champion can make that mistake,  I guess anyone can.

there was no SX series back when Everts was racing. Europe had outdoor world championship race seasons. Teams only had to setup the bikes for outdoor tracks and seasons. Should have been much simpler to set up and adjust the bikes with known tracks annually. Funny Everts won all those championships despite making his "mistake" over and over again?
