Absolutely Buggerall.

Well, especially compared to breathing in the crap that's being kicked up.

Like Anything, they take a bit of getting used to - you just have to Not be one of those Drongos that tries something for a short while, and gives up on adapting.

Johnny Campbell taught me to put a piece of foam behind the chin guard/breathing element.

Anything restricting your breathing is simply not worth it. A little silica in the lungs never hurt anyone Smile

3 local quick guys raced the club class, and posted that they were changing air filters up to six times a day because of the dust. All their crew are just flat out cleaning and oiling filters 😳

They're aliens, cloned in the Lawarence laboratory. Evey rider that has the gumtion to enter an ISDE deserves so much respect....

I think it's because the girls race the Euro enduro format more often. Isn't Gutish racing in europe this year?
Obviously it helps that they are good riders, but the men could probably be more competitive if they did the euro enduro format more often.

I'm pretty sure you can use the Funnelweb Filter a bit longer then the other "junk".

She's raced Enduro GP the last 2 seasons...and won her class both years. She's also an Endurocross champion, and a TKO winner. Korie Steede is a GNCC champion and longtime competitor in that series...also did a good bit of MX when she was younger. Richards came from the WORCS series if I'm not mistaken.

They are like a little CR Airfilter on your face!

Neat little things, that you can have in a Zip Lock bag in an Enduro jacket.

We ride with goggles - well, most of us do.

So, we have foam contacting our fizzogs near on all the time.

I've little need for them much of the time nowadays, but, I've Always got them to hand.

I recall seeing a race report , years ago, where , because of Blue Asbestos in an area in California (?) riders Had to wear masks. I always think it was Tecate, but not seen  that being the case for events there, in yonks.

As for The Six Days : Cristino, finishing the event with a freshly dislocated shoulder !

I'm sure a whole bunch of riders got through with injuries - we all do at times - but he kept going, and going really bloody well - and his Team won. Bloody Impressive. 2 weeks ago, I ' Turned Turtle ' at a Uni Lecture, and, some students 'helped' me up. Trouble is, one grabbed my Right arm, and didn't hear me bellow out Not To do so, and he dislocated my shoulder. 2 weeks later, I still can't use my arm remotely effectively, and it's really a problem in my workshop, and, for getting around on crutches

That Cristino kept going, well, that's bloody impressive - well Astounding!

On Yah Kev!

well there you go!   The best prep is maybe the US Sprint enduro series but it ended in June, so that's 4 months without simulating the pace and terrain of ISDE. (and even that is debatable)

I'm not sure what system they're using tbh. Heavy dust isn't often an issue in the UK so they might not have had the latest stuff 😄
