I ride/race supermoto. The official AMA Series has been gone since 2009.
There's still the SMEC Series which is AMA sanctioned (racesmec.com).
There are clubs out there. I live in the PNW so we have Northwest Mini Moto and Cascadia Supermoto.
There's also a Norcal series. I'm sure it's the same way throughout the US, club racing.
It's too bad because SM is just as fun (or more fun) than moto. Highly underrated.
I did a couple track day on a DRZ400SM, loved it so I drove 8 hours to get this. It is nasty!
The Duel at the Docks supermoto race at the Queen Mary in Long Beach in 2006 was one of the coolest races I’ve been to.
Im not really into supermoto, but there was the FIM Supermoto of Nations in Germany a week ago.
You're so cool for pulling up a 20 yr old thread
Supermoto is the funnest thing you can do on two wheels and that is a hill I will die on.
There was a bit of a resurgence in Australia - A very cool annual event was run on closed inner-city streets in Newcastle for a few years - the promoter eventually went bust.

Some Supermotos racing at tar only road race events, and in SEQ “Minimoto” practice days at Kart Tracks there are sometimes enough Supermotos for 2 groups.
I enjoy the tar only events in my old age. We used to have a few meetings a year at a little track that really suited them.
I also have a fire breathing Husky 701SM that is my favourite street bike. And I’ve tracked it a few times - a bit heavy for racing.
That thing is sick! You should let Kevin Sherman test it by the way 😀
