Because I have nothing better to do, and this thread got me looking at the bogus Rolling Stone mag top 500 Albums list, I looked to see how many of the albums I have bought over the years were on the list. When I digitized my albums in 2019, and also burned many of my CD's to my computer, I created Excel document lists of them. There was also a period in time when I was buying albums on cassette tape, when I did not have a record player or turntable/stereo system.
So of the ~550 albums I bought over the years on vinyl, cassette, or CD, 44 of them made Rolling Stone's list. All are real rock albums except for 1 R&B/Soul album.
Pulling up one of my CD books, with Jeff Beck, Zep, and others.
There's a remastered house's of the holy CD that has a companion CD, remixed without Plant's vocals on most cuts.
It really allows you to hear the mastery of Page, as well as Jones and Bonham without the powering vocals.
Worth adding to your collections.
On a related note, anyone remember when Jethro Tull beat out Metallica for best new heavy metal band?😂😂
I do, that was horrible 😂 the video for One is one of the greatest works of art in music history. Although not as good as Master of Puppets in my opinion, still up there in greats.

I think Mellon Collie is overrated, if anything. It's still insanely good, don't get me wrong, but there has always been more buzz about that one. It's their commercial big bang! For my money though, Siamese Dream is the better record.

Haven't seen The List, as I haven't read RS in decades.
It's all relative : I've just come out of the Suzanne Vega gig at the Opera House, and much of her music she played - a Electric Guitarist ( who I thought was Pete Townsend when he came on the stage) , her on Aucustic, and a lady on Cello, is near on 50 years old.
On the light rail back to Central Station, there was a group of young Girls / Women singing Queens Bohemian Rhapsody, and doing so Beautifully!
They saw the smile on my face, and I just said that was from my youth. As in, 1975.
They had No Idea it was a 51 year old song they were singing. It was quite wonderful to have a chat with them, tell them about the weekly, 1 hour on Sundays 'Pop' show, Countdown, that my 'Generation' hung out to see our favourite music. They were stunned by how little music was on TV, way back when. The show was mostly disappointing for we Rock and Punk fans, and I told them how we'd come to near on Hate Bohemian Rhapsody, because it was number one for, I think, months, and it just wore so thin. But, it was infinitely better than some of the tripe that was around at that time.
