I grew up riding as a kid and my track was mosier valley in Euless TX. I took off 20 year and now I’m back. One trail ride in on my 350 and want suggestions for a vet friendly track in DFW area. Thanks for the help.
River Valley is good and pretty mellow.
Oak Hill, Metroplex, River Valley, 956, Underground, MSR, Swan, Johnsonville. The Rafters, Buffalo Creek, MSR, Badlands, Holeshot, The Boneyard, Athens MX, Freestone, Sam's MX, Bowie MX all with 1.5 hrs of the metroplex.
Trail Spots: Twin Hills, Trophy Club, Quinlan, Red River,
And there's about 10 private tracks on 199 west of Ft Worth and a few in Weatherford.
Take your pick brother. It's endless. Most vet practice day guys hang out at River Valley and Metroplex.
Going to need real rain to get Village Creek(Mertoplex) back open, I'm afraid.
The creek is kaput right now.
Just got back from Swan a few minutes ago. Very Vet friendly.
The Shop
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
What is the status of Swan.
Did they find moto friendly buyers?
Not so far I don't think. Pretty pricey. I got the Pro Challenge flyer by email this week. First time I can recall that announcement not mentioning the pro purse $$ ...?
Another place with decent single track woods is Barnwell Mountain in Gilmer. And the folks running it just took over Rio Bravo this week.
And next week is Woodstock for Dirt Bikers AKA Diamond Don's AHRMA National in Jefferson, TX. Always a great time. Something going on every day (and night) Thursday to Sunday. Racing or not, it's a terrifically good time.
Shady Grove still around?
Chicken cookin' on the trashcan.
River Valley, Oak Hill, and Metroplex are my favorites. I spent most of my time at River Valley and I'd call it the most vet friendly. I miss being there dearly. TX is one of the best states for moto. I've been gone for a year and I'm absolutely dying to move back.
Actually bought by a concrete plant.
My last time there I was jumping the table top in the front and coming up the landing going the wrong way was a family of 4 on quad with a cooler strapped to the front. I missed them by inches. I went back to my van and left and never went back.
Underground is open this coming Saturday 9-2 on the National track.
Outside of DFW but Black Gold in Stephenville is fun and vet friendly
Are there any tracks in those you mentioned where you can rent a bike / gear ?
I come here about twice a year from France and wouldn't mind spending my weekends riding nice tracks 😀
I don't know of any that rent bikes and/or gear.
I'm not sure you can just ride Oak Hill much anymore either. They do mostly training there now and are only open to the public on select weekends and that is typically only one day of a select weekend. Really sucks but it's few and far between.
Not sure when you travel to the DFW area, what sizese you are and what skill level? But I have 30-32 and 32-34 pants and plenty of gear, including googles, gloves, jerseys. Boots I have are Gearne size 10's. Helmets I wear are Bell, S or M, so if you have a bigger head, or aint my size?
I have bikes, well maintained, 2 and 4 strokes.
I live very close to River Valley, Oak Hill and Masterpools and some other private tracks in the area
Wow, wasn't expecting this when asking about renting a bike ! Thanks a lot.
I usually stay in Fort Worth as I'm travelling for work which is located in Rhome.
I stopped riding about a year ago, my plan being to start again soon (coming month). I'm a B level rider I believe - I'll send you a private message to discuss this possibility !
Thanks !!!
Great I'm not far from Rhome.
I'm 8 minutes to River valley, 25 minutes to Masterpools, and 35 minutes to Oak Hill.
5 KX's and a YZ and a big shop
You are near all the good tracks! The nearest track to me is an hour.
