I was down there all afternoon today. The start is elevated and there is a lake at the bottom of the rise. They’re not going behind the gate as the track map shows because of this. The rest of the track is covered. It’s definitely not an arenacross track but definitely not a hybrid one either. No matter what, they’re all racing on the same track

I'll just wait for Mike Pelletier to explain it to me.

Do you have any track pics to share.

Who named that stadium. Lived in Ohio most of my life and never heard of it. Had to look it up.

Nothing historic about it.

Columbus Crew Stadium was renamed "Historic Crew Stadium" in 2021 after the team moved to a new downtown arena (now called Scotts Miracle-Gro Field) and the previous naming rights deal with MAPFRE Insurance expired.

It’s literally right next to the expressway. You’ve never seen it?

meh. they'll have it covered in the morning when it's forecast for most rain. By gate drop the track will probably be mint.

Looks like a bit of a mess still this morning , was there ever even room for a corner to go behind the gate ??https://www.instagram.com/reel/DdJnt1hxwCa/?stkn=eDVwbGgwOGlmeXZu

The stage under the pavilion is removed (based on other pics I saw), so yes, there is room to go behind the starting line.

A lot of rain here Thursday. Dry (so far) today.

Almost all of the rain is actually set to occur when qualifying/LCQs are scheduled for (8-1pm).

So the track will most likely be uncovered. Even if they cancel a session, once uncovered, they won’t be able to re-tarp the track, leaving it exposed to the rain.
