Since S.Coenen crashed out of Turkish MXGP 2 and the championship is basically out of reach, and he is coming to the US on '27....
Why not make the SMX finals his SX hybrid debut ? He qualified with his win at the Wick.
Could be a big payday, an excellent learning experience and make things way more interesting?
He is probably contractually obligated to compete in the world championship series
By winning a race you qualify to race the LCQ'a at each round you are not automatically in the top twenty...

Wouldn't make any sense. He's beat up. Recover a bit and get into sx slowly, when fresh.
I also hope he's east to have more time.

Probably true on his contract. But if US KTM wanted to get him some exposure to US Supercross what an opportunity.And the online audience would explode.
What about all the sponsors of KTM in mxgp that aren’t sponsors of KTM USA?
I would guess he'd need some more practice time on supercross style tracks before he dives into racing on them. I know there's no whoops but it still probably wouldn't be a great showing, id imagine, and it wouldn't be putting his best foot forward.
It may be great for views, but for his long-term health and career , waiting and coming over after and riding some SX in the off season before jumping into SX would be the safer move.
I would love to see him come over, but he rides so wild, I would hate to see him hurt himself and screw up next years season before this year is over. I love his strong desire to win and go as fast as possible. But I hope he's able to smooth out and avoid some of the crashing.
I agree, but I do want him to be west. We know the goal isn't to come out and win right away. Hope he takes it easy and has some time off to focus on the outdoors. Also if he has a crash or two it would give him some time to recover. I guess I'm just saying all of that to say I prefer everyone to be healthy for outdoors over SX 😄

Yaa, I don’t like how all the factory teams have a gear deal in place for their riders. Febvre seems like the only factory guy that has his own gear deal.
Regardless of the other complications of racing SMX, he looked pretty hurt. Crashed out of moto 1 and only did one lap in moto 2.
Prado wears Fox. Tomac wore A-Stars. The Conen's wore FLy at TV and the Wick.
In Europe, Yamaha, KTM, Honda, Kawi (besides Febvre), Triumph all have gear deals in place for their riders, I wasn’t talking about the US teams, my bad. Simon was on DeCarli last year and wore FLY, now he’s on the other factory KTM team wearing AStars like Adamo. The Coenens apparently signed a deal with AStars for next year in the US.

Sacha and Lucas will race the Paris SX on Nov 20 / 21st
I would love to see them both show up to SMX!
Is lucas and sacha even gonna be ready for the mxon at this rate? It may have already been discussed but I'm just curious?
Does that mean Sacha could use SMX as practice for Paris ? No whoops at SMX so as long as he he didn't override the track he could qualify from the LCQ ?

It still gives them more time to ride some SX than if they jumped into SMX. Considering the first round of SMX is in 5 days and November 20th is more than 2 months away. Maybe if they had been planning on riding SMX the entire time. But a last minute decision to ride it sounds like a horrible idea , if the goal is the have a strong 2027 season.
I'm excited to see them in the US and to see the battles that I hope will happen. To see how they do in a full season. And I think its worth waiting the little bit of time so that they can stick to whatever plan they have. I'm sure that they have been riding some SX in the past when they have been in the US training. So its not like they have never been on a SX track.
I would love to see them both come over for SMX. and see how they could do. But I think it would be more risky and I don't want to see anybody hurt because they rushed into something.
They have SX tracks by their home and they do practise it on a regular basis for quite some time now. I's not like training on US soil and US tracks by they do have some SX experience. Obviously, you can't replace gate drops and Paris should be their first gate drops in SX and a good starting point to see where they stand, in front of serious competition.
They will be on US-specs equipment too.
The no title brothers are coming to America, They should have stayed on task and won their respective titles before coming here to crash out!!!!!
Lucas was landed on by another rider, sounds like crashing. Plus he kept racing after being landed on, give the man some respect.
Agree. I love how the Coenen brothers ride. Makes for interesting racing. If everyone rode around like the Lawrences, things would be pretty boring. Even Tomac not beating Hunter/Jett is still way more entertaining to watch him ride.
Let's hope they don't get hurt, but to me, they deserve praise for riding on the edge.
It sure will be interesting in a few years when both Coenen brothers are racing 450's and the Lawrences and Deegan are all in that class. Assuming everybody is still close in speed, it will be wild to watch 2 guys look like they are out on a site lap or spinning laps for press day, and 2 other brothers riding like their life depends on it and super exciting and full of energy . And seeing them battel with those styles. It will be strange to see the guys who look like they are going a million miles an hour and the smooth brothers, going the same speed as each other. It sure will be a strange thing to experience. Such polar opposites that have taken both styles to the next levels.
I'm excited for them to come over. I'm sure the bosses at KTM have seen them ride SX enough to know they will be ok. I'm not saying they will not be good. I just worry about dropping either one into the short SMX series while they have been riding and training for their MXGP races. In interviews most racers have all said it takes a little time to readjust to SX and the same when going from SX to MX. So I just feel like it would be a bad idea for pretty much any rider that is lining up to try and win , to jump into a series like that . On bikes they have less time on. At that point they would have had 5 days or so if they decided to come over when this thread was posted.
As I'm writing this I started to wonder if they will end up doing better in SX than most expect, and not as good outdoors as most people expect. Since they might end up putting a lot of focus on getting better in SX. I figured Max Antsi was gonna be really good outdoors, but he seemed to have given up on the outdoors. And Prado had a season that was a little opposite from what I was expecting, similar to what I was wondering about the Coenen's. Glad they are coming and will make the racing more exciting no matter how they finish.
Crascha will not survive Supercross in 2027. You heard it here first.
