I believe it is.

I spent a lot a days and nights there - I was driving up from San Diego at the time, long way to go and it smelled like a farm, but it was a lot of fun.

The original was closed and gone in 2002, but big Jim Facuitto put the new Comp Park 2 in a sand pit where the Soboba Casino is now, that was sure short lived.

Then we get to a different story of the 2002 Motocross of Nations, UGH....

Malcom McCassey ?  And then didn’t some guy get a compound fractured arm that got infected and they sued the track because there was manure in the dirt ? Does that sound familiar ? Then it got nicknamed Pigshit park ?  I could be wrong…

same here… we raced there a bunch. This was the 2nd one, that you entered next to the houses right ? Halfpipe and pit bike track ?
The Soboba track was crap. We went there the first week it was open. That dirt was terrible. Malcolm McCassey really screwed the pooch with that whole debacle. Pretty sure he ruined Starwest too. Crook

I was doing a college internship in Torrance during the summer of 97' and on weekends I'd try to hit local So Cal tracks. I was trying to decide whether to drive all the way from LA to Carlsbad to cross that off my bucket list when a friend suggested I check out Comp Park. It was going to be a shorter drive so I said what the hell.
Ryan Hughes was there testing a pitbike for the Langtown Backyard Supercross. I remember very little else from that day and I regret very much not going to Carlsbad. I missed my window and soon after that I went back to school and Carlsbad shut down for good.

I've got a lot of memories from this place, including the time I ran my 80 into a cattle fence. They had a few tracks I can now vaguely recall. Haven't thought about the “Soboba " move in a while where they attempted to host an MXoN what a shame...

Yeah, that whole area was cattle ranches and you would drive for miles smelling cow shit. And of course, it was mixed in the dirt so you would inevitably bring some home with you. Fun tracks though.

I loved that place. A lot of time spent there on 60’s and 80’s. Was my favorite track for a long time.

Around 2000 I drove up from San Diego to ride there a few times.

One day Jeremy McGrath was out there, and just as the sun was setting I rolled a double that must have been 15 ft high amd 80 to 100 feet long.

McGrath jumped over my head, and I realized it was time to go home 🤣
