Miss that guy… Motonews was the first forum I ever joined. Lots of cool dudes over there, until the spoilers started showing up. Kinda like what’s been going on around here lately.

Is it just me, or did we miss the 20 year anniversary of VitalMX?

I see guys like me, FTE, Lostboy, NV825, Seemefirst and others have a start date of 8/2006...so I'm assuming that's around the time when GuyB migrated us over from MotoDrive...

Crazy, how fast time flies!!

Migrated MD thread. The guys found the launch date this morning to confirm, it was written in a champagne bottle. 😂 it was August 15th.

Didn't Steve get a cease & desist - or at least a strongly worded knock it off letter - from the HJacks people because of you? I seem to remember them getting pissed at all of the useless hits their site was getting.

That was you? I just remember being leery of every link Huck posted because a lot times it went to that site.

If H Jacks is obnoxious, though, fuck ‘em, let’s start sending useless clicks his way again.

That's about when I lucked up upon motodrive. My sons (11-13 yo) had just started racing in April 2004, I wondered around on the old Georgia message forums (racing Kevin Kelly's moto madness series) and sometime mid summer I read about a site with "real motocross" people on the site motodrive. Been here ever since.

Couple questions, was there another board that was pre motodrive? And is the guy from az still alive. He was from Cali but live in az. He has one leg and could be an asshole. For the life of me I can't think of his name. Rip newman, tfs, ocscottie!

BobbyM is still alive and kicking.  I believe he pops in occasionally under a different user name these days. I see him on several FB groups from time to time.  No one had better names for miscreants than BobbyM🤣

I first joined online forums in 2000 over at corral.net. Forums and bulletin boards used to be a place where enthusiasts engaged with other enthusiasts to discuss things.

At some point, I remember when a few places I was part of learned they could monetize the traffic by selling ads.  And it changed the tone and increased moderation. And then social media came making things more accessible to gen-pop.  And then paid forum posters to drive engagement. And more.

I enjoy the discussion on technical stuff and actual racing.  The non-banter bullshit is tiresome.

You talking about the mustangs message boards? Shit, I lived there. Drsg raced before my sons got older and we transitioned over to dirt bikes. Ran the old mm&ff true street street for years then the street renegade class. Had a ys-trim vortec 89 notchback

I know this a moto message board but when I seen the corral.net and your username 94cobra it brought back lots of memories!! It explains the last 36 years of my life!!

Hell yeah!  I posted quite a bit, then took a break and came back to moto after college.  First in Thumpertalk and then here.  Kept the same username.

I still have my 94 and also now a ‘19 GT350. Will get around to fixing up the 94 eventually.  Too much fun with moto still.

He appeared in the late 90's on Mototalk if I remember correctly. "Mouthbreather" was his go-to insult for a while.

Mid-90s when the only place I could get Internet was my college computer lab and I fired up Netscape, wondering if there was anything motocross-related on the net. There were like four results, one of them being Whip It I believe. It was a long time ago. I remember being amazed there was any mention of motocross on the World Wide Web.

I've mentioned this before but when you went to Vital MTB and stirred the shi* over there and their members came here and bombarded this place with hate filled posts by the thousands I thought GuyB was gonna stroke out. The verbal battles between you and Lenny were classic. Fun times!!

I believe I just got back into the sport and signed up at Motodrive sometime in 2007 and when the Motodrive board got absorbed by Vital my member date was 4/1/2008

You just reminded me of when SuperRat went and trolled some MTB board, seriously, those guys can't take a joke.
