What a sad indictment of the sport when it largely relies on wealthy fans spending their own money to fund ego teams.
If we check the top 20 of moto 1 in EMX250, I think half of them would be a great addition to the MX2 class. And we have riders like Braceras that are riding national championships because they can't find a proper MX2 ride (for whatever reason, i.e. inconsistency and injuries). + Mancini did for whatever reason not qualify for the races (while he had p1 in time practice in Sweden)
Mancini never was a sand rider, it isn't the Ducati to blame in this case.
If you want a name for MX2 that is top championship right away yeah sure i cannot name him. But guys that can ride top 10 right away (at the tracks that suit them) i think many can do that.
Valk, Braceras, Prugnieres, Garcia, Skovbjerg, Doensen have been top 10 MX2. A bunch of other EMX250 riders should be able to do that as well.

No!
French publication DailyMX is saying that the Norman KTM Team is expected to take over KTMs official EMX125 and EMX250 programs next year.
American Sawyer Gieck is linked to the team for a 125 ride.
Would that mean no support for the individual teams who had KTM contracted riders (van Venrooy with Katona and Simpson with Doensen)?
It's KTM tradition to nuke good teams but I doubt those two teams get replaced to be honest.
Bauer will maybe ride for SS24 KTM team next year...
I think i read that somewhere, but cant recall.
Be interesting to see what happens with Oliver, if SS24 retain and run him.. didnt get chance to talk to Shaun at Duns, will hopefully get a chance at Blaxhall. I dont think Doensen is retained, which is a shame, but he hasnt made as much progress as i would have hoped.
What's the deal with Oliver, actually? Why is he not behind the gate since a few races?
I think it was a shoulder injury
For the past two days, I’ve been getting reports from an FB page that Kay de Wolf has injured his thumb again and won't be going to the MXoN. I can't find any information confirming whether this is true; can anyone verify it?
Yeas he is out for the season being reported now at gatedrop.com
i could understand them not retaining Doensen, but if they do keep him i would think having him run MX2 would be much better for his development then returning for a 3rd EMX250 season. And even if he would have a Garcia like championship people will still wonder ''can he do it at mx2-level''. Just look at how Zanocz season went
Is it? He's been out of the GP's since Loket (end of July), but did race in the British Championship at Duns (early August). Might be another reason he misses the rest of the season, but is one of the reserve riders for the Spanish team in Ernée.
I didn't know he raced the British championship though, however that championship is key for the team and their British sponsors. If so then I'm not sure why he is not racing GPs
He had a big crash at Foxhill, but came back for the Duns round of the British Championship, which is the Teams 'home race' in Scotland.
He was joint leader of the series with Ben Watson for the first couple of rounds, and is still second in the series i think.. but now behind Mewse after Watson went 8?-DNF at Canada Heights .
Pit Row
Yes, but with the monicker 'KTM Factory Juniors' they are supposed to be EMX level , not MX2.
The Oliver thing is an aside, i think they used the budget for Max Werner who got injured early in 2025 to keep Oriol on Orange.
It would be a huge shame if Oliver wouldn't have a ride for next year. His speed in his rookie MXGP campaign was impressive.
