I have Leatt and I like it. I've heard the A stars is good to.
I wear mine with TLD body guard lite and it fits fine.

A Stars looked like a two dollar piece of squirt molded plastic. I sent it back and got the Leatt.

Go Leatt with a Fox Proframe. Perfect fit, you'll forget you even have them on.

Omega for sure, I can't people are still buying Leatt's and A-star's with the risk involved with them, and the lack of fine tuning the fit.

Lack of fine tuning the fit of a Leatt????? The ability to adjust the fit is one of the main features I liked over the A Star. Everything on it seems well thought out and mfgd. Never seen an Omega in real life, can't comment on them.

You can't adjust the height between the helmet and your body as much like you can with the Omega, which is the most crucial part of reducing neck injury. Well thought out? I don't think having a hard piece sitting in the middle of your spine is innovative, nor is the hard piece that rests on your chest, and clavicle. The Omega uses a suspension system that slows the speed of the impact and transfers the energy more evenly throughout the upper body, without hard parts resting on your body. Everyone has there preference, but after wearing a Leatt since they came out I would never go back to wearing one again unless they redesign it.

Yeah.....that was me. I've worn a Leatt for a couple years not and got a Astars brace as a Christmas present.......THEY SUCK and there is NO WAY I would trust that POS to protect me. I'm sure they work but anything that I could easily break over my knee is not good enough for my standards. I'm actually a Leatt dealer, if anyone is interested in ANY of the new leatt models send me a PM and I can get you some pricing.

I have the alpinestars one and love it. The Leatt felt bulky compared to the astars one. I'm glad I made the switch. I also noticed that the alpinestars one fit quite a bit bigger than the Leatt. I had a medium in the Leatt but the small for astars fits better.

I recommend NOT getting one, to restrictive and forces you to change your riding position in a negative way. I've never ridden with one just observed others, my .02

An "Expert" speaks! Whistling

Carbon fibre Leatt is great. Totally non-restrictive when adjusted properly and light enough not to be noticed when riding. P.S. don't bother wearing the straps. I don't really know what they're for, the leatt can't go anywhere, even without them Smile

I think it depends on what fits you. I could not get the leatt or EVS to fit me right but the Astars is great. I just got an EVS F2 chest protector as well and it works with it.

how the hell can you sit there and tell someone not to buy something cause it changes your riding style ect ect ect. wear one, then come give us your "opinion".

i,ve personally worn a Leatt (i wear everytime i ride. including my mini bike) Astar, and the EVS. only one i not worn yet is Omega. but i recommend the Leatt to everyone who i ride with or whomever asks. the Leatt did not hinder my riding or restrict me in anyway shapeor form. EVS on the other hand, way to restrictive for my style. but persona;;y, since the first time ive worn my Leatt, i never knew was even there. i love it..

and PaleBlue.. im so glad someone finally stated that. i never wear the straps on my brace. dont like the feel of them starpped to my arm pits. and if anyone has anything to say about it, take it up with some pro riders. cause there are a few of them who dont wear the straps either..

My opinion is the way you are SUPPOSE to ride and the motion you NEED to ride is significantly restricted due to a neck brace. Its another factor your riding against, its like the guys you watch at the track that ride super stiff and look like pogo sticks, funny to watch but you wouldn't want to be that guy. I feel wearing a brace restricts your upper movements and also your range of view from looking ahead and side to side. Again its my opinion and been riding since age 3 and turning 27 tomorrow I'm not going off what I think, its how "I" feel, I've tried them on but never made sense to "me". I know a lot of others who are no longer wearing them as well, for some guys maybe its a life saver but perhaps if they were in a better riding position or had better mobility it could have been avoided as there is a good chance your looking DOWN a lot more NOW then you were without it, its all a debate like blonds and brunettes...

cool.. i been riding since i been 3 and turn 31 next week. so does that make me a 'expert' on personal opinions?? so again, that holds no water on what others want to wear or what is comfortable to them. yes i agree with one aspect of your opinion.. some riders feel it hinders there movement ect ect. but not everyone feels that way. and how could you really give your true opinions if they are good or not if you have never personally used one yourself. if you stated you wore one and didnt like it, id respect your opinion. but telling others it hurts your riding abilities and maybe guys wouldnt be hurt if there riding position was better, is straight garbage in my eyes.

if you never tried chocolate, how can you tell someone that it taste like shit?? why, cause you saw a couple people who tasted it and they not like it??

dont knock it til you rock it..

Neck braces can also preserve movement to restrict not rectrict movement. Dress for the fall, not for the ride.

So you don't wear a helmet because you can't hear, blocks your vision and is hot?

all he asked was what kind of neckbrace to buy.Dry If i were you kid i would buy a leatt they are better constructed than the alpinestars and probably a little cheaper. Most chest protecters say if they work with a neckbrace in their disciption if you buy them on line. i buy my stuff from www.rockymountainmc.com and they have great prices and free shipping on all orders over $99! they have a geat selection and both of the braces you are looking at buying.

I wouldn't get one of those pieces of shit if you paid me. I heard from others who had them and they said that they don't do shit if you crash anyway they are more like one of those neckroll things.
