I have a serious question. What gives you the impression I think I'm smarter than anybody ( as in even 1 single person) else posting in here?
I personally think that underestimating other peoples intelligence is one of the dumbest things You can do. I'm not immune to doing it at times but I try hard not to ever do it. I find that its often the quickest way to look dumb. A smart person is only as knowledgeable as the information they have. A lack of knowledge is not always a sign of a lack of intelligence. Sometimes its just You don't know what You know, until You know it.
But I really wonder if that is a serious comment and if so what made You think that. I don't want to give that impression and to anybody that got that feeling I'm sorry about that.
It would be a bit more interesting to see You make some real contributions to threads beyond saying they are all dumb and a waste of time, etc. Even if You feel its not worth the time or beneath You. Some sort of real opinion on the subject itself , instead of your opinion on the poster.
How do You think it all ends?

I think everyone battles with underestimating other’s intelligence and overestimating their own (Dunning-Kruger). Knowing what you don’t know, is as important as, knowing what you do know. The best leaders have the ability to put ego aside and choose the best qualified people for positions. You should want dissenting viewpoints to strengthen your own position, be malleable enough to change your position when it is shown to be flawed. That is what true leadership looks like. It’s having ethics and morality, but showing humility and human decency when incorrect, instead of trying to blame everyone else.

Yah most likely. But I was genuinely curious and a sure fire way to never get an answer is to never ask the question. Its a small enough effort to put it out there. Maybe ole white feather will surprise us all with a real answer.
That's what turned me off to Trump to begin with. He has never exhibited the traits I consider are needed in a great leader.
He is amazingly thin skinned for how he seems to not have any shame. Embarrassed by nothing , infuriated by many things.
Calling political opponents enemies is just not OK when You are the president. He is great at marketing and causing drama. I think he could be a great movie or reality show producer. Or social media influencer. I don't have hate for him like some do. I just do not feel like being a good leader is one of his skills. Like on a very basic level. Neverminded all of the craziness.

I can support some reform of government spending, well I'm sure there is a lot of it that I would support. I took a look at a website that puts government jobs out for bids and WOW, there is work for just about anybody on there if You look hard enough and are willing to travel. Many they offer X amount of money and the bid process is just explaining how You will complete whatever job it is that Your biding on.
But some things should be the last things to be cut. Education , taking care of Vets and people who have paid into SS their entire lives and rely only on that check.
Look at the impact Apple has made on the worlds manufacturing by training and educating people in China to the level they have. They have spend Billions of dollars over there, and as a result there is some really good electronic stuff coming out of China now. Of course there is still crap. But its like that everywhere. There is a really good book that talks about Apple in China in great detail. I attached a picture of the cover. I have not read it yet, just listened to some interviews of the author talking about it. And it was very eye opening.
Education is the key to having a strong country.

I agree that education is important, but I don't think the government should be running it.
Grades are in the tank, seniors graduating that can't read, and the solution is always "more money".
All that gets us is more administrators.
Look at colleges, state or otherwise, prices continue to rise, but are the classes getting smaller, better professors? Nope, just bigger administrations.

Removing government isn't going to fix it either.
While caring for my mother and looking at various programs that were offered that changed overtime. They started out as me applying more directly to Medicaid or Medicare, I always confuse the two. and then they wanted to increase accountability and reduce fraud, so they cut the money in half that used to go to the care taker and have a 3rd party business who's only job is to verify the things I'm saying are true.
Before it would have been my mothers Dr. signing a form. And fewer people involved and more money going directly to the person doing the care taking. I was never able to qualify to be paid under one of those programs because in MA, houses are expensive, and my mother would have had to have been living SS check to SS check. with no savings or investments. And the programs only provide money for people who hide their wealth earlier , or are so broke that there is no way they would be able to use the program anyway.
In those cases all it has done is built up even more of administration jobs and cuts the amount of money a caretaker gets in half.
I can imagine the same thing happening if you just remove government oversight. But still fund it with tax dollars. You would still have somebody to oversee the funding at some level. And if it worked like the elderly programs all it would do is shift the money around to more people and help the person who was supposed to benefit from it less.
I don't think that government control is the problem. I think that the throwing money at fixing a problem is the problem. So many schools will end up buying stuff they may not need, so that they can afford stuff when they do need it. Why not fix that. It would save money by limiting spending to more needed things and not punishing schools that are thrifty. Maybe they have tried it and found that schools would be worse dealing with budgets that way? But I really don't think that removing the government from education is the way to fix it. Changing how they deal with things could be a start. But You don't need to burn the place down , just to get rid of the bad parts.
If it went totally private and tax dollars were not funding it in any way. That may help schools be more competitive. But it would also limit education even more to people with the money to afford it. And if government is funding the program with tax dollars. Why hire 3rd party companies that will be running the same shit show with their budgets. Maybe to a higher degree. Some sort of oversight and federal standard to make sure kids are learning the same things no matter where they live sounds like a good idea to me. I really think that bringing back more shop and automotive classes to high school would be a good thing too. As it is its limited to people who can afford to go after high school to a trade school. While auto kids that still have shop and auto classes are able to get decent jobs right out of high school. Privatizing those schools has lead to fewer people having access and look at how car manuals have changed over the years as repairing vehicles has gone from common knowledge to big business instead. And again shifting more money to people with more money, and taking it for the people with the least. Credit card interest rates, etc. Its all making things even harder to go from being pour to doing well. And the cause always comes back around to business profits.
