She's dominating in the US, just won the Aussie title..for her development, does she try to qualify in the 250 class and learn that way? Or keep riding WMX with no real threats (until Mayla is more consistent)? Thoughts
There was a thread in here that she was going to try and race some nationals this year. But I think that was nixed when she ended up going to Australia.
There’s an argument to be made that it’s safer for her to be running out in front of the women’s class, than mired in mid-pack in the 250 class, racing against the crazies. And what’s the upside? Better sponsorship?
The upset is to make her faster. If a girl is dominating his own class, what is the next step to become a better racer?.
Look at what Lotte Van Drunen are doing..
Possibly. But there’s a risk versus reward equation to consider.

Pretty sure Jordan Jarvis qualified for High Point in about 2022 ish when there was no WMX. Maybe it was 2019? Very vaguely remember how the day went. Qualified on bubble maybe like 34th? Rode around in about the same spot in the motoa, didn't really look out of place. She looked like she got tired at 20mins if I recall.
Would be great to see Lachlan race WMXGP as well. Maybe not the entire series, but events here and there to stay active. I bet it would be awesome racing.
I have been waiting for it since I saw that she went over to AUS.
That ear to ear huge smile belies what a killer she is. Love it.
From what i've been told she is making way better money in Oz than she is in the US. Going to the GP's would maybe hinder this bank she's making in Oz.
If she someone how qualified in the 250’s, there’s no way she’d be running mid pack unfortunately.
Qualifying could be possible on the right track though which would be awesome!
Do we ask the winning women in other individual sports when they are going to compete against the dudes? MMA, Tennis, etc are all sports that have seen dominate women and no one ever is asking when they are going to sign up to fight or play the men.
Turner is racing the Darwin MXGP, will be cool to see how she and LVD stack up against each other.
Not really the same when the other women’s sports you mentioned all have full on leagues and moto only has a couple races a year for them(in the US)
I started that thread because she was talking about trying to qualify for Southwick (250 B Group goes first practice and has quite an advantage). I thought she had a legitimate shot but her plans changed and she was Australia that weekend racing.
I know I’ll catch hate for this, but Jarvis didn’t really qualify when she did make the motos. She made it in as 5th alternate. Meaning there were 4 guys in front of her that didn’t make the LCQ cut and went home. She stayed and called up.
Still way faster than me and most everyone posting here. But not quite the same as legitimately qualifying for a national.
There was also a woman in the late 70’s or early 80’s that qualified in the 500 class but I don’t have any details on that situation.
I think LaLa could actually qualify for a moto if the conditions were just right for her. Hopefully she tries soon.
Lachlan Turner Overdrive ? First. (Obscure 70’s rockers)
She trains at club still I think, so she knows where she stacks up as she is/was in the A group there.
I feel like a couple of the lady golfers have tried to qualify for a men’s event.

When the Williams sisters were dominating tennis, they both played exhibition matches against the 203rd ranked male player. He destroyed both of them easily. LaLa qualifying would be very impressive
There is a lot gender talk in regards to basketball right now. I think the gap in moto between LaLa and the men is much smaller than the gap in basketball. I believe a good (not even the best) high school boys team would wax any WNBA team. But I really think LaLa could qualify (not win or even score points) in a race where 250 B Group goes first on a clean track.
