My petri dish of a daughter brought me another round of crud and it got me thinking. For her (child) when i give her medicine I measure carefully, but I just chug the shit. What say you?

Poll

How do you consume general OTC meds?

If a little is good, a lot must be really good.

I typically talk to the pharmacist if they're not busy. They typically know great alternatives and what does/doesn't work.

I'm pretty careful with OTC pain meds, etc., and can't say that I ever take more than the max 24 hour dosage.  However I do swig things like Nyquil and Dayquil from the bottle.  I actually measured the difference between my swig and the dosage cup and it was pretty negligible.  I have my own bottle in the medicine cabinet so when I do need some I'm not contaminating the whole house.

Back when I used to get heartburn more frequently, I used to chug the Pepto pretty good!

As you get old like me, and you start developing a daily pill box for various prescriptions, you really start looking at following OTC directions 😉 and their effects with alcohol!

If it's OTC edibles, be careful with dosage. 8X is too much.

Ask me how I know.

I rarely take chug-able otc medicine . My go to medication for anything from headaches to full on flu or colds is Advil cold and sinus ,if that doesn't work ,nothing will.

The doctors tell me I'm doing pretty good for my age.  I take zero prescription meds and I think the last OTC pain or cold med I took was maybe 5 years ago.  I do take 8000mg of fish oil, vitamin C,D, Tumeric, and Apple cider vinegar daily...cause that's what us old people do.🙃

I have a similar story I'll share when things calm down a bit and I have access to a keyboard. But your story was very close to home which made it extra funny!

I've never taken a cold/flu medication. Never felt the need.

I have never had a headache. Am I the only one?
