Yet another example of him not taking an ounce of responsibility for his actions and always accusing others to deflect.  Did a single person think that he was telling the truth about the 'vandals'?

There was alway a bit of a practical logic issue with someone using a box cutter for hundreds of feet, but idolatry cuts through that pretty easily.

knew it was BS from the start soon as they said it was done in the amount of time that it was.

takes a long time to empty, power wash, scrub wash again, acid wash, wash again, clean the shit out of it , dry and then lay down the paint.

I bet Sumdood has far more experience at this than the company that cut so many corners and asked for the check

It's a big, shallow swimming pool -- pumps, filters, chlorine, acid....... WTF is so difficult about keeping it clean?

Another government home run.

To be fair it probably is pretty hard. Its shallow which means it gets hot, plus its wide and slow to circulate. Tons of surface area means it gets tons of shit in it. I wouldn't want to care for that thing.

"The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool was built to act as a visual mirror, connect two major national monuments, and create a grand, dignified landscape. [1, 2]

Design and Purpose
  • Mirror Effect: Architect Henry Bacon designed the pool to mirror the images of the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument on its flat surface. [1, 2]
  • Connecting Monuments: It was placed between the two historic sites to visually link the legacy of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. [1, 2]
  • Dignified Space: The still water was intended to provide a quiet, solemn setting for visitors on the National Mall. [1

Ghosts of DC

  • Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool History: Bacon, McMillan
The architect Henry Bacon designed the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to be a mirror, not a surface you were supposed to look at.

The Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool has served as the backdrop for America’s most defining civil rights rallies, anti-war protests, and national celebrations since its completion in 1923. Because of its vast open space and symbolic location, it is a primary gathering point for major historic milestones. [1, 2]

    Historic Milestones and Major Events
    • Marian Anderson's Concert (1939): After being denied permission to sing at Constitution Hall because she was Black, African American contralto Marian Anderson gave a historic Easter Sunday performance on the memorial steps. A crowd of 75,000 people lined the Reflecting Pool to listen. [1]
    • The March on Washington (1963): Over 250,000 civil rights demonstrators gathered along the length of the pool on August 28. It was here that Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic "I Have a Dream" speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. [1, 2]
    • Anti-Vietnam War Protest (1967): A massive crowd of 100,000 protestors gathered at the pool on October 21 before marching to the Pentagon in one of the largest anti-war demonstrations of the era. [, 2]
    • We Are One Concert (2009): A crowd of 400,000 people packed the area around the pool for the inaugural celebration honoring President-elect Barack Obama, featuring performances by major musical artists. []
    • COVID-19 Memorial (2021): On January 19, President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris hosted a solemn ceremony illuminated by lights along the pool to honor the 400,000 Americans who had died of COVID-19."

Seems to be a grand area to drown out voices.

Renovation Ideas?, burial for all failed Politicians, Burial for all Politicians, More fruit tree's?....

How many additional millions of taxpayer dollars will he funnel into the pockets of his partners for the repairs now?

And when Trump and Co sued Capital One recently (for political discrimination), they essentially blew their own cover...Over 300 Trump Accounts were closed in 2021 following an internal anti-laundering audit.

4 bankrupt casinos, 6 bankruptcies in total I believe? The work of a savvy business man who earned his fortune the hard way.

Thankfully, they've clearly cleaned up the act for this latest presidential effort and are morally intact. He doesn't burn bridges, he builds golden ones (over the swamp he forgot to drain) that will usher us into the new era of American dominance on the world stage...

I think the only things being drained are Americans' bank accounts, patience, and apparently the Reflecting Pool (again).

Is there anything above the boards he gets involved with that does well? Genuinely curious. I'm trying to be a glass half full dude here...

EDIT - Spelling.

True.... algae paradise.

But I'll bet a case of IPA that pool isn't getting the regular maintenance it needs.

A pool is a hassle and an expense, you gotta spent the money and time to keep it clean, but rocket surgery it ain't. This thing holds 4 million gallons, that's not cheap. The $$ for it gets skimmed into some lobbyist's pocket, no doubt.

Foghorn Leghorn making a public fucken spectacle of it doesn't help.

I've spent way too many days in DC, the place is a ultra-toxic shithole full of nasty people.

It even looks like Germania. Only way to fix it is with two dozen Caterpillar D9s.

You think the over abundance of fireworks dropping shit into it wouldn’t require a draining and cleaning?

She was supposed to fold like an umbrella to his wishes , not the law. Good for her. A few are still concerned about their careers and survival after the draining of the trump swamp. Elon may have to bore a tunnel for that job.

Isn't it odd  how obeying laws are now considered folding like an umbrella ???

draining the swamp will only require 1 president helicopter ride so he can steal that new useless golden airplane

Yah I know right!

I mean it would be one thing if he had run on bringing  prices down on everything and not starting new wars and then didn't come through on those things. And  insulted anybody who asked him about those things and said he didn't care about them at all. Then vetoed  a bipartisan   bill that  would help make housing more affordable. Spent a bunch of money on the reflecting pool after the last company to work on it told him the project  wouldn't work , but did it anyway .Then accused innocent people of vandalism after the project was a big fail  so he could spend more government money on redoing it .

But he ran on renovating Washington and throwing people in jail after hiring contractors  that did crappy work right?

Crazy what  people are worked up about these days. What next?

He improves the appearance of what's sacred to our nation...? If people cared about that, they'd hate him. He is the most outwardly bitter-teenage-girl childish public figure that I can think of. It really is a nice photo though, it tickles that patriot nerve ending.

This cannot be real - if it is it's a hard slap to anyone that served and earned our respect and further, gave their life for our freedom.

I don't think it will make much difference.  We already heard the crap he said about McCain being a POW, his remarks about dating in Manhattan being more dangerous than Vietnam, and it's now obvious that the claims about him calling those soldiers buried at Aisne-Marne American Cemetery "losers" and "suckers".

A few people might shed their cognitive dissonance, but the bulk of his MAGA following will still look at him as their Messiah.
