Maybe the same idiot that pays for 3K for ECU, Pipe, bars, triple clamps, and revalve as a C class Vet?  That's a lot of streaming

Haha.  Alienate the customer that wants a 12 hour daily broadcast for free just because it has been free in the past.  Unreal bro.

Free to the consumer does not mean they don't generate revenue. YouTube with ads generates revenue. Just like broadcast did with TV for decades. The only 'cost' to the consumer was their time and attention to watch ads.

Please if you think for one second this decision doesn't have Cotter and Coombs dick beater prints all over it your delusional.

So what if it does?  If they earn revenue from it that is a good thing.

Because they already make enough on this week of racing. They're just going to run people off.

How much do they make?

Is there any truth to the rumor that Flo is going to cheap out and just setup 3 or 4 Flock cameras to film the race and run surveillance for this guy?

RacerTV is wholly owned by Racer Media & Marketing out of Irvine, CA. No common ownership or officers with MX Sports. That surprised me, I've always assumed MX Sports owned or had a piece of it.

Edit: nevermind looks like MX Sports owns or has a piece of it.

You asked google if they are "related".  That is not the same as ownership.  Sure they are related since they cover events owned by MX Sports.

That's a different company. NOT the one that handles the GNCC's and Loretta's .  They have  little off road content on their site.

Go take a look.  its 2 similar named companies.  But Racer TV and Racer Network  are not the same .

It's another case of AI/google not being correct.  Racer TV is a racer productions company.   Racer Network is owned by RACER marketing and media. And they produce a magazine called RACER. They are much more  asphalt racing and cars/trucks.

While looking for more magazines to read years ago, I came across this version of Racer Magazine .

IF You dig a little past the AI info. You'll see its wrong about Racer TV. Its connecting RACER TV to the RACER Network.   AI is considering them the same thing when they are 2 different but similar companies.

Racer X, Racer TV, Racer Productions.   The parent company seems to be WORLD SPORTS HOLDINGS LLC.  They all have the same Morgantown WV address.

RACER TV is a registered trademark (Registration #7293163) owned by WORLD SPORTS HOLDINGS LLC, a MORGANTOWN based entity located in WV. The trademark was filed on 18 Sep 2022 with serial number (#97596090) and registered on 30 Jan 2024. The RACER TV trademark is filed in the category of Education and Entertainment Services. The company began using the mark in commerce on 01st Feb 2011. As of 30 Jan 2024, the trademark remains Live/Registered, with a recent status, REGISTERED. The mark is represented by attorney Shane P. Riley of law firm Shane P. Riley.

Where did I say, or suggest, anything about Racer TV?

Key Details & Leadership

It sucks to see them going to the paid model like that. I know that it will hurt viewership.   They could at least hand out codes for racers to give to family and friends that would allow them to watch those classes for free.   In the past I've always had it playing on the TV in the shop. But after my horrible experience with Flo in the past, I'm not really excited about signing back up.  I got it for Nationals and some of the other stuff was a bonus. That I figured I might watch since it was there. But I ended up never watching ANYTHING beyond that shit show of an attempt they made at broadcasting the first National. I gave it a shot every time they tried, and then they did that thing with subscriptions , charging people after they canceled them.

I don’t know about anything else but I’d bet the livestream made them money. Maybe not a lot but I doubt they were putting up that broadcast for the past 10 years or whatever it’s been purely for the love of the sport while they actively lost money. They saw an opportunity to make more and jumped at it, I get it but I’m certainly not going to support it.

Funny thing is I’m sure quite a few people would happily pay 5-10 dollars just to watch Loretta’s for the week but nope, they had to package it with less relevant events to “justify” the price.

Here's how to watch for free:
Borrow your wife's credit card to sign up for Flo.  You'll eventually have to cancel the card because the subscription won't cancel. While waiting for a new card to arrive, it'll prevent your wife from spending money, ultimately saving you big bucks in the long run.

I was looking into ownership of racertv.com and it all came back to Racer Media & Marketing. The trademark registration is more definitive, definitely the Morgantown crew which makes more sense.

Funny thing is I’m sure quite a few people would happily pay 5-10 dollars just to watch Loretta’s for the week but nope, they had to package it with less relevant events to “justify” the price.

If they had kept everything the same and just changed it to have a $5  or $10 per race day for GNCC's, or even $20 for Loretta's alone, I would be much more likely to do it.

I don't want to subscribe and then have to worry about canceling and them not stopping charging me.  Like Flo did in the past. I did get it all refunded but it took time away from doing other more productive things.

The same pay model that us used for the MXGP  streams would have worked for me. But I'm at the point I want to reduce all of the extra's that I'm not using often.

If this is some sort of step towards getting onto Peacock and having it all in a single place, well that would be nice. If Peacock had SX,MX,SMX, GNCC, and Loretta Lynn's that would be great. As it is I'm not interested enough to continue watching now that Flo is involved.

I feel like streaming  for free was doing a lot to expose new people to the sport. My sister ended up watching some of the smaller CC classes racing one time after it being suggested.  And one of my nephews was telling me how he didn't know that little kids could ride and race dirtbikes. He was excited to watch people his age racing.  Unfortunately I've been injured  often and bad enough that my sister has given me strict instructions to never get any of her kids involved with dirtbikes. So he is unlikely to get into riding. But the kids themselves were super excited to see the Stacyc style electric bikes. And I was going to get some of the RFN bikes for them. But My sister and her husband shut that down quick.

Had my injuries not figured into it, that chance exposer my sister and her kids got by watching the races streamed on Youtube may have just gotten her 2 boys and 2 girls into riding that were so excited for it at the time. And had it been up to them, they would have gotten bikes that day.

I guess the good thing is that they are still being streamed,  perhaps they had been building up a viewership and not making anything off the stream (relative to what they got from the Flo deal) for most of the time they have been doing it.  Supercross early on was PAYING to have the races shown. Just like paying for an infomercial. They bought the airtime and sold adds themselves. And it cost the series money for a while. Things have changed bigtime. So that model exists, and could have been the goal all along for Racer TV to eventually sell the rights to the streaming. Its hard to say for sure without knowing  more about everything.  It sure feels like a downgrade though.

The consumer is still strong according to market data. So most likely people will be paying Sunday night, Monday morning.

While they won't get me this year because I want to see how it goes before I spend my hard earned $40. I'm not paying for their growing pains.

Yup , all managed by World Sports Holdings LLC which is owned by the Coomb's .

I  went down that rabbit hole of Racer magazine and Racer X magazine years ago.  And its just another reason not to trust what AI tells you with a lot of things like that.

It is so strange that 2 similar companies exist and have no relation.

One doing similar stuff  but with automotive focus. Thats where people are getting confused.  AI is telling them that Racer TV is the Racer Network.  And it is not.  The Racer network is  automotive  and connected to RACER magazine  no X.  ,  Racer TV is motorcycle and connected to Racer Productions and Racer-X magazine.

Similar enough for AI to combine them and how you ask the question will determine what the answer is. The more I use AI in my serch's the more it feels like its feeding more into confirmation biased info. And not strictly factual stuff.

The Racer Productions logo and Racer Media logo look similar but are not the same.  It's similar enough that it seems to have  confused  some people.

I'll ask the same question....You know this how? I don't know what world you live in but in every business I'm involved and around revenues have been declining and cost are increasing....Hey I'm like the majority here I don't like it that they are going to FLO and I won't be buying it....But when people post something as dumb as "they already make enough" or "Revenues have risen more than costs" it tells me how far some people are from reality and just make shit up to fit their agenda...
