Will there be a race like the monster cup ever returning?

The one feature I enjoyed about the race was they used it as a test best for new features. The elevated start, grate starts, joker lane etc.

I feel there is so many possibilities to the adjust sx racing that implementing in the regular season is difficult

Not only that The off season needs a fun event like this, us open or, straight rhythm

Villopoto telling Dungey he forgot to take the joker lane will always be one of my favorite moments in racing. Wish they’d bring it back.

I know it got a little boring and the talent started to lack, but straight rhythm was always a fun watch.

When? Their is no time in the schedule with SMX.

Straight Rhythm on the other hand, is a fun, different, one off event that might work. Monster Cup was another race, no chance it comes back.

Monster Cup was kinda replaced with the SMX Playoffs.

I miss Monster Cup. I miss the chaos and uniqueness. But with SMX, WSX, Australian SX, Paris, MXoN etc., I don't see it being possible. I love how much offseason racing we still get but these dudes need their off weeks too

One of the SMX races should be Straight Rhythm.  Another one some sort of HellTrack design (movie RAD).  The third can be more of a hybrid

If I remember correctly, later that evening Villopoto also forgot to take the Joker lane?

You’re never gonna believe this but there’s a mini series that’s somewhat similar called the SMX finals

Back in 2011... rv2 won mec and received 1 million dollars for one night's work... that would be about 1.5 million today...

Today... our guys gotta race 3 weeks to get that deflated 1 million... zero idea why the racers today put up with this chit... if payin by mec standard ,  the winner should get 4.5 mill...

Well yeah, for one single person and also only for sweeping all three races. And I remember that every single year quite a few riders skipped the Monster Cup because it wasn't worth it and we had half of the factory guys out there.

Have you seen the amount of money even 2nd, 3rd or the top 10 (and also the 250 guys) make in general through SMX now? Are we deadass serious that SMX is worse than Monster Cup money wise? lmao

I was fortunate enough to be in the stands for the 2013 edition. RV vs Stew. THAT scrub by Stew, that quad they were both pulling, and THAT accident on said quad by RV. Insane night.

I was there too. That quad was right in front of us. As an RV fan I sat there in shock,

RV telling Dunge he missed the joker lane is another big moment I’ll never forget. Watching Dungeys hand hit his helmet and his head dropping and the stadium just laughing.

I looked forward to going to Monster Cup more than I did Vegas SX.

If we are gonna daydream, let’s bring back the US Open in the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Make it a two stroke race, with 125 and 250 classes.

Yeah, I know that there’s not enough weekends in the year to add additional races to the schedule. And most modern day racers don’t seem too eager to get out of their comfort zone (in this case, go dial in a two stroke and race it one weekend). But if this could actually be pulled off, I have no doubt in my mind that it would be a huge hit with the fans.
