Lucas is done.

Thats a bummer. Hopefully he gets healed up sooner before Herlings runs away with the series. We want both of them healthy for the championship.

With Lommel coming up next week and Coenen being fit by then seems highly unlikely, I'm afraid the championship's over.

Lucas must not try race tomorrow. He needs to heal and come back healthy. Still alot a of racing left and Herlings can still have more bad luck.

It sucks either way and a bummer for the fans to see this.

ikr?? Especially since Caroli/Barcia/Ferrandis repeatedly say that the MXGP Ducati bike is further in development since they can make changes on the chassis. Yet Ducati USA is doing way better. Its weird

Seewer did mention that it was harder for him to adjust to as a short rider since he can't manipulate the bike as much as a tall rider can but Cairoli I think is barely taller and he looks great on it.

Obviously certain bikes suit certain riders better and you'd expect the Ducati to fit Cairoli because of his involvement with the development of it but even still it's mind boggling how Seewer can go from getting lapped on a factory Ducati to being on the cusp of the top 5 on a satellite KTM.

He's almost a full 2 minutes faster over the course of a 30+2

Cairoli said they made huge changes to the bike prior to Southwick which made him way more comfortable on the bike than ever before. He went from like top 10th to top 5th speed in one weekend basically. But yeah kinda weird with Seewer, you'd think they would try to make changes constantly to get him to the front again, but his results were constantly around 18-20th. Really hard to judge about the situation from the outside I guess.

Here source from what Cairoli said: https://racerxonline.com/2026/07/21/antonio-cairoli-on-dnf-at-spring-creek-another-rider-hit-my-leg-and-twisted-my-knee

"Still adapting", Latvia was only a month and a half ago. Just admit Coenen had him covered.

And yeah, ofcourse Herlings is going to win at Lommel, the only one who could've beaten him is injured. De Wolf isn't fit enough yet.

What a dirty move by Herlings, trying to put down injured Coennen. Jeffy karma is just around the corner.

Maybe but I'd never bet against Herlings at Lommel.

I sadly missed the qual races, can anybody explain what happened (or if something happened even)?

If that alone is the reason he is fading at some point, the cause would be still that injury since that is why he is lacking biketime. It plays a role in some way or another. I just cant imagine he is riding to his full potential or without pain for a full moto.

Lacking “bike time” shouldn’t be a problem at this stage, it’s not like he’s been off the bike for 6 months lol

Sucks for Lucas, but I want to see Herlings get another title before he’s done. Kenny and Jeffrey went pro in ‘09 and ‘10, it would be cool to see both of the “old dogs” get titles at this stage in their careers.

Yes and if his injury wouldnt bother him there would be no reason for him to not ride during the week in the first place

Not true. 2nd race Herlings was chasing him until his bike broke. You can not know what happend at the end of the race if the bike didn't blow. And Kegums is not Lommel

The same the other way around: you can't know he would've passed him either.

Timing screen has a Belgian guy running top 10 in EMX2T... on a Triumph. What gives?
