Ok, say Aden is 32 years old, 3 kids, been racing for 16 years. He didn't fill out the paperwork, why is he allowed to race? I owned a business for decades, I would go without eating to pay my people, how can these people sleep nights? Say in your scenario, wouldn't you think over the course of 7 weeks someone in charge of the series would say, "Fill out your paperwork please". To him, Towers, Oldenberg or any one of the riders mentioned?

He's not an employee and he's not relying on the payout to feed a family.

MX Sports is reminding him to submit his info every pay cycle that he doesn't get paid.

It's not like it's a difficult thing to do, it's slightly more involved than signing up for the race.

So if he is not an employee or using the money to feed his family, fuck him and the money he is owed, is that what you are saying? What business is it of anybody what he needs the money for, he IS owed it. You are also saying if he is the only one, which we know there are at least two others, fuck him and the money he is owed as well? As far as a W9 situation, why are they allowed to race then? It is old hat the racers are subcontractors, in my decades of business subcontractors were not allowed to work anywhere until all documentation was complete and approved. These riders have to pay before they race, that is absolute, every damn effort should be made by whoever is responsible to pay these people, who are not employees and may just use the money for video games - but risk their lives, as soon as possible. You condoning the hire wire act at the circus not getting paid speaks volumes of your character.

Which scenario do you think is more likely?

A.There's a problem with the payments.
B. Aden didn't submit a W9 correctly.

I'll stop with that.  Everyone here can now see what a shill you are.  You can't even admit when you clearly have lost an argument.  Good luck on your shilling.  Keep on keepin on.

Only came here to say, not a lawyer.  I'm a nothing and nobody.

Also, have to mention, hearing someone state a statement isn't hearsay. "At Southwick’s riders meeting Oldenburg asked when he was getting paid." "Aden asking if he got paid yet. He didn’t"

I wasn't for sure if you were being a shill or what, until that statement.

He did say "Mx Sports is", "not Mx Sports is probably". There was a certainty to his statement.

If I said a coin flip has a 50/50 chance of heads/tails, I'm not making things up. I don't know exactly what will happen, but I know a coin has 2 sides and equal probability of landing on either.

Missing W9 is the most likely scenario leading to the current situation, based on the information provided.

It also explains why Keefer went MIA, it's embarassing to call somebody out only to realize it's your goof.

Respectfully I disagree. I like Kris but my view is he started a fire, blew on it to put it out, didn’t work, and ran away 🤣

You're saying it would be better to not let people race because of a payout paperwork issue?

Maybe they don't have their account and routing number on them at the moment, or they are in the process of setting up an LLC or other entity who cares, let the guys race and sort it out later.

Might not even be a problem if they don't finish in the money.

Only came here to say, not a lawyer.  I'm a nothing and nobody.

Also, have to mention, hearing someone state a statement isn't hearsay. "At Southwick’s riders meeting Oldenburg asked when he was getting paid." "Aden asking if he got paid yet. He didn’t"

In your "non-lawyer" opinion do you think this statement would hold up as fact in court?

“No, we have not got paid, because Mitchell Oldenburg just went up last weekend and asked, and they said, ‘Oh yeah, no, we’ll look into it.’ That’s all he said.”

We don't know who Oldenburg asked and although in the context of payment, is it possible it could have been payment for something other than prize purse?  Like promotional or media work, donation to an auction, or selling goods/services to Tim Cotter?

For your accusations of assumption you're surprisingly willing to make big assumptions of your own.

People make mistakes, (if that is what happened here?).

In normal jobs/lives little mistakes like this don't get advertised to the public, that's the double edged sword of the influencer/media game.

That sounds like a stretch. I don’t know too many people that keep going to work enthusiastically when they don’t get paid on time. Come to think of it, I don’t know any that would.

This reply is to both of your replies to me.

My first (longer) post had nothing to do with WSX. The quoted part was what you said regarding hearing two weeks ago about AMA riders not being paid. I appreciate all that you do (Well sort of. Not into hustle culture…happy you have found a bit more balance) and for sharing it with us. I don’t see you as journalist, but your claimgate efforts are probably the last and one of the few times that I’ve seen a media guy do some real investigative work on a current topic in this sport (it’s usually historical if it happens at all).

My second post came after posting the first one and then seeing that you skipped over the WSX rider name question. So…no…you didn’t answer my question. It wasn’t my question and it hasn’t been answered.

Getting threatened with the banhammer for my post is so GuyB lol

You brought up the WSX rider. You brought up the 98%. You chose the 2% path by avoiding the name question. And you chose to admit it was a friendly chat in passing, adding more fuel to the bro media fire.

I banned myself long ago because of your goggle ads, so please, save the empty threats and do what you gotta do. I am happy to place my attention elsewhere. Your advertisers’ budgets are better spent on someone else’s eyeballs anyways.

Dude. You are the problem. There are a few here that are jonesin for any tea at any time, its unrealistic and frankly kind of sad. The reporting in this sport is directly in relation to its size. Maybe even better than that. Yes, I follow some other major sports and have the comparison first hand.

Take a break, you'll be ok if you don't know what Sexton ate for lunch and told his boss after.

P.S. you shitting on a part time media figure on this forum is a really, really bad look for you Karen. Go pout somewhere else. Or better yet, maybe go for a ride and think about yourself instead of a bunch of superficial dudes putting on a show. Your probably the guy who doesnt ride on Saturdays cause its booked off to watch the races and get more stuff to bitch about.

Out of curiosity for timeframe perspective I looked up Aden Keefer’s Pro results and he did just get his Pro card after racing the futures/next class in SX. At Round 1 he didn't make it through qualifying. At Round 2 at Hangtown on June 6, 2026 (6 weeks) he did make it in and it looks like every round since then.

Aden not having the proper paperwork is your assumption. Keefer stated two other riders who have been pros several years not getting paid, they haven't done the paperwork either? Why would Aden's parents mention him and others not getting paid if Aden didn't fill out the proper paperwork? Surely his parents would know that. And his sponsors for that matter. And no, if his paperwork isn't filled out to pay him, I think there would be legal issues to allow him to enter a professional event. The point of entering a pro event is to get paid to participate.

I guess I should come on here to clear some things up to put out some of this this shitstorm a bit. First off, DC doesn’t EVER tell me not to speak my mind and I usually do (good or bad). If you have listened to our show, we speak honestly. I’m a face value type of guy and can only speak from what is going on with us. DC has never told me to shut my mouth. I work for Racer X yes, but DC allows me to be me.

On the show Aden said “no one has gotten paid”. Meaning, “no one” over here (AKA us, Aden Keefer). Maybe that was misconstrued into NO ONE has in ALL riders. Maybe I need to pay more attention while recording but usually these shows are raw/unfiltered. Also, Aden does know a couple riders who haven’t got paid yet but this also could be a bank issue? At Southwick’s riders meeting Oldenburg asked when he was getting paid which spawned into Aden asking if he got paid yet. He didn’t.. I do know that the riders I have talked to today (more than a few) have been paid twice already (7 rounds in). So I think the conspiracy theorists need to chill back a bit on if MX Sports/AMA is doing this on purpose. They’re not. (You can say “oh Keefer is blowing MX Sports” or I’m drinking the cool-aid but I am not becoming rich working for Racer X to lie/hide anything). I work for at Racer X cause I love the brand and the people that I work with (including DC).

From my experience (this is my opinion) there isn’t anything funny going on. Were we genuinely curious on how privateers could make it to the next round if they haven’t got paid? But on the show I made sure to specify “if this is true” I wonder how they can make it to each race. I DO NOT know everyone in the paddock so I can’t speak for everyone but from the people I speak to, riders usually get paid every 2-3 weeks depending on if there is an off weekend or not. I never came on the show and said MX Sports hasn’t paid a single rider. We and a couple others didn’t get paid. Everyone calm down. 😂

Hopefully this clears up any conspiracy theories and I am sure Aden will get paid, we were just genuinely curious on how it all works cause it was weird that he wasn’t paid yet. I appreciate everyone listening to the show and going on this journey with all of us. See at Washougal!

Yes, that's an assumption I've made because it seems like the most likely scenario.

Perhaps Aden thought he filled out a W9 but it was actually for his team not MXSports?  IMO that seems more plausible than MXSports not paying.

He's a 20 year old whose parents have instant access to his bank account, that doesn't indicate confidence in his personal finances.

What legal issue would there be to a rider declining the payout?

Ok, maybe last post on this.  Lol.

Does anyone else notice, multiple times, he avoids answering anything about other riders mentioned. Many people have mentioned the other riders. It's as if he works for an entity.  He sure shills well.  Just avoid the things that prove you wrong, and you keep saying the same thing.  Hope he gets employee of the month.  He deserves it, fo sho.

We don't know root cause. We can speculate based on probability or emotional inclination, but without knowing we aren't doing anything but discussing potential scenarios and the actions and motives that created them. No reason for any of us to get spun up over what if scenarios.

Does anyone else notice, multiple times, he avoids answering anything about other riders mentioned. Many people have mentioned the other riders. It's as if he works for an entity.  He sure shills well.  Just avoid the things that prove you wrong, and you keep saying the same thing.  Hope he gets employee of the month.  He deserves it, fo sho.

Awesome endorsement, I hope MX Sports hires me because of this 😂

The other riders isn't a big deal to me, it's a rumor we heard from a kid who isn't mature enough to ask the promoters why he didn't get his payout.

He's still young and will figure things out eventually, but that's not a very credible source IMO.

How hard is it for MxSports to come out with a PR saying “there have been reports that riders were not being paid on time…” and finish the sentence with the facts that this isn’t true and payment was sent and it was a riders bank issue or it is true but will be corrected by doing “x”?

Make up your mind friend either he is mature enough to be held accountable for the alledged, imagined, postulated, theorized W9, or he's not mature enough to even ask for money. Which is it? As far as legal issues with a W9, just an observation, but in decades of owning a business myself, if you needed a W9, you got all that done before you could even start work - I have never nor ever knew anybody who needed a W9 to work and was allowed to work before that was done. If riders are required to complete a W9 to get paid, again why are riders allowed to ride without one? Is this so it is easier to delay payment to the riders, if so it works swell.

Not trying to be a contrarion or be disagreeable, but only about half my customers have their stuff together. NDA up front, contractors agreement, W-9 etc before I ever start work for them. Others have nothing, and ask for the W-9 during tax reporting at the end of the year.

I wasn't for sure if you were being a shill or what, until that statement.

At minimum, Aden not getting paid is the reminder to get his w9 submitted.

He'll get back pay once he submits his paperwork,  MX Sports doesn't know where to send the money.

I'm not making anything up, that's how it works with contractors and event payouts.

You are assuming.  Which means made up.  You think Oldenberg didn't fill his out either?  Shill.

Everyone is in this thread is assuming everything.  The only order who confirmed he is late getting paid is Aden.

That sounds like a stretch. I don’t know too many people that keep going to work enthusiastically when they don’t get paid on time. Come to think of it, I don’t know any that would.

Seems like the paperwork issue is on Aden's side.  That's quite a bit different than your anaolgy.

Surely his parents would know that.  His mom does nails and his Dad rode dirt bikes his whole life.  Great assumption they know what needs to be submitted
