For the first time since June 11th 2006 the worldchampionship visits Montevarchi. Stefan Everts and David Philippaerts were victorious with double racewins in both MX1 and MX2.

Montevarchi's a nice layout but I'm not a fan of the banking and fencing on the sides of the track, a bit sketchy from a safety perspective.
I saw some footage of the Italian Championship last year. Track looks amazing and quite natural.
My bad, didn't see Elliot his post. Need to get some coffee 🤣
My post didn't show for me either until after you posted. It's a common glitch on vital, so you can cancel your coffee!

Just saw some more video's of the 2006 races. Like racing on concrete, no ruts whatsoever, excellent track, exciting races and multiple passes.
Please, pleaaaaase, I hope they didn't ruin it.
I rode there in '08 - yep, concrete!
MX2 Julius Mikula is returned back to racing after Teutschenthal crash.
I hope the riders are ready, it's going to be a slaughter: heatwave in Tuscany.
Damn, that's hot!
Looks like Gifting will be back this weekend.
Yeah half of europe is burning right now, here too.
Take the shirt off and get a tan!!! Lol
I raced there in 1985. There was a concrete drainage pipe that ran all the way underneath the pits. It was about shoulder width in diameter. One of the Kawasaki mechanics bet another guy £100 that he couldn’t crawl through it.
The guy succeeded, got covered from head to toe in shit, but won the bet.
Oh, and Malherbe arrived at the track in a new Ferrari. And Brad Lackey showed up just to watch the race.
Pit Row
What a funny story 😂 £100 in 1985 is about £400 in today’s money, I dunno if I would crawl through shit for £400 lol. What was the reaction from the riders when Malherbe turned up in the Ferrari? Flash bastard no doubt ha ha.
If he'd have done it heat like this weekend he would have stunk the paddock out.
Go Pro of the track.
Bragging on their social media about having 40 entries in both classes and then it turns out, based on free practice, there's not even 35 in either hahaha
Based on what? At least he did not participate in the first practice and I haven’t read anywhere that he’s ready to race yet.
Am I being blind or did Lucas sit out free practice?
18th place in fp
On Thursday he posted he was taking a plane to Italy. Turns out it wasn't to race, maybe to attend his team's home GP.
You need spec savers, he finished 18th.
I think the MX2 title fight could come down to Farres and Sacha. Farres made such huge steps forwards, actually not the same guy as he used to be anymore. Only guy in the 1:46 in fp too. Simon for whatever reason hast lost his mojo since weeks
Yeah, I heard he’s been seen in the paddock today.
250 Practice
It's like watching Dogs on wet / oiled Linoleum .
It is, Wonderdous!
It's so good / different to see a surface other than a Plowed / Tilled rut fest.
Better them, than I - or, many of us. I / We'd be on our arses almost instantly.
It's going to be a hard ( pun intended) weekend for all riders out there.
450s out now .
