Specifically pertaining to the 350, people who have ridden them would disagree, and dyno charts as well.  The 350 is made super mellow, and still shows similar dyno hp and torque ratings. As well, do you really think Beta makes the best version of a 350 that can be made yet?  Props for them making them for sure.  But they will get better as the years go by.

Here's a race looks like amateurs, and I hear plenty of 4 strokes in it, most likely 450s since it's a 350.  Wouldn't be allowed in a 250 class.  Sure seems plenty comparable.  Again, the mags are supposed to be running these shootouts for amateur riders

"Oddly" for mags being key, and the joke.   Here's just a mild tune with head and cdi

Sounds like a fun bike to ride - but not sure of why they built it.  Cant Race it against the 250's and cant race it against 450 or 250 2strokes.  So maybe great for weekend warriors and non racers - but what is there reason behind it?

probably for vets, play riders, and anyone else who refuses to buy a 4-stroke......use your imagination

No one has the data, but I DOUBT the 327 makes more than 45 RWHP. A stock YZ 250 is 38 HP, and a KTM 300 SX is around 44. Heck, I would be surprised if it has more HP than the 300 SX.

55-56 hp? Not bad with just a head insert and cdi. At least vhm is making one for it. I’d like to see them also add a pipe and possibly Vforce reed cage, Boyeson impeller, etc. Even a full PC 350 😎. A red Kawi fender would look better on it.

Sweet, good find 👍

Says 2025 300sx has 49.1.  Sure you aren't listing a yz250f horsepower?  The YZ250 is near 46hp.

2Ts in shootouts are always at a disadvantage because most of the testers or “all of them” haven’t put enough time on 2Ts to really be dialed. They are hard to ride coming off of 450mx bikes if you aren’t use to that style. Always seems like that to me anyway, I know it took me a while to get super comfy on my 25 300sx.

I'd be fine with that, even if they say it's hard to ride or took getting the feel etc. As long as they are presenting all bikes that fit into a 250 ABC class 250cc shootout or Open ABC class type scenario. There will be some riders who love them and some who do not in the shootouts.  That's ok.  Not everyone loves the Suzuki 450 either.  But it is giving the "buyers" all their options at the same time to make a decision.

Obviously the bike was never intended to compete directly against a 450, but it would still be fun just for the hell of it to have a pro rider run both bikes back to back just to see how they compare.

Worth noting is that VHM Dyno always reads higher than others. They 'correct' the graph to show crank power (as commented by them on their Youtube). Other dyno's just report RWHP.

The stock hp was in line with magazines at 48 or something though.  So their dyno shows both, the stock hp and mod hp in this video.  So it's still a 7 hp gain or something

It probably won't be that far off from a 450 as you think.

On a fastest lap basis, yes it would be close, on a consistency basis over a moto no. The 450 would win hands down.

Carson Brown should do a shootout between the KX327 and KX450F!
