Luckily, there are many more measures of a successful man than being able to ride a dirtbike fast.

Testament to his camp and team.  You’re telling me with the deep roots of Star, Deegan, friends, sponsors, etc., they collectively didn’t know what he was up against?  Shame on them.  The kid is still a kid.  They didn’t know he was being thrown to the wolves?

Deegs will be just fine.  I wasnt a fan of his off track antics but his talent is obvious.
It also looks like he is maturing on and off the track. Well mannered.
We all can look back on our life and have some regrettable moments.
I was at my nephews graduation party over the weekend when another nephew asked me about moto.  He said he has been paying attention again after 20 years and said he was following Deegan.   He and his buddies are now going to Millville Nationals.
Deegan does bring people in and surely is one of the premier riders in the world.  He is only getting better and keeping it on 2 wheels this far shows me has matured as a rider.

OK, we're on a dirtbike website talking about a guy who rides a dirtbike . Can you guess what this is in reference to?

Of course not, comments drive up engagement and overall impressions on his posts. Whether they are good or bad it gets more people seeing his media and overall seeing his sponsors. This was clearly an ego thing, he got tired of seeing the proof that acting like a punk isn’t socially accepted and that he lost major respect from the general moto community.

All he had to do was turn the comments  off and the usual jealous haters have started clucking elsewhere. He playing chess

For several years now the grown up fans could see HD was making an ass of himself off of the track.
Being so good on the track can only make up for so much.

We’ve been fans long enough to understand why 250s can post faster lap times than 450s at times. But it’s baffling why someone inside the HD camp couldn’t see that too.

Honestly, if the guy just has a bit of humbleness, plus his riding ability he really would be the next American hero. He may be getting plenty of clicks and follows as it is, but he’d get more if he was more likeable.

I agree. I don't know the kid or anything but it seems like he is actually a pretty respectful person, in a lot of ways. I've said many times that sometimes his image is so fake that you can see him with the nervous laughs/expression on the podiums at different times and how he wouldn't look JT in the eyes when there was "beef" etc. I personally don't think the act and image is "genius marketing." I think he would have way more support just by being himself, at least with the moto / motorsports crowd. The humble american hero thing is something he could achieve, easily. His reach beyond moto, may not go as far, but there is give and take with that. You open yourself up to negative comments and a lot of backlash, once you talk trash and act like the badass and get smoked by the ppl you target (especially as an "influencer.") So I don't feel bad for him for getting some heat. That comes with the territory and he chose that path. But I do think without the whole act, there would be so much talk about how he's had 2 very respectable 450 rides. And I don't think many could blame him for losing to Jett or Hunter right now (or in the future.) But he wanted the smoke and the hype, so that's what he got. It's his life, so I'm not saying what he should or shouldn't do. But Eli made a pretty good living and has a huge fanbase. Do you think he regrets being himself or does he wish he created a character to "grow the sport?"

He has a lot more followers than any other rider, ten fold.
Kid loses to Jett and Hunter.

To me, he is flirting with being the third best rider in the world right now and is still getting better.

Any rider would tell you that Deegs is the real deal.

Look, why is anybody involving themselves with this thread?

Because he is relevant, good or bad.

I honestly think, and genuinely hope, his public persona is all an act...that they are intentionally trying to cause drama, and playing up the villain role (and Brian is the director)...when behind the scenes he's a normal, respectful, kind, hard working young man...

I get why his dad had to play up this same schtick to get attention and make money (he didn't have the talent to make it as a pro...so he had to figure out another way and the villain was the path of least resistance for him)...but Hayden has the skills and the talent that he doesn't have to do this...he could take the high road, make just as much (maybe more) money, and have far far far more respect.

I been telling yall he’s the type who can dish it and not take it. I have seen so many people saying deegs has them blocked lol. Duke Gomez blocked just for giving it back also. He needs to apologize for the shirt or something. All the podcast dudes been hating on deegs because of that. Even the ones who use to support him

Let’s see how the summer plays out.
Im just glad he puts in the effort and isn't blaming the bike.
No doubt Brian had a plan, a business plan.   SM is huge.
He is a good kid, yeah he does things different than most of us OG’s here on vital.

Maybe flirting with 3rd in the USA but not in the world. Coenen, Herlings, Fevbre, Gajser are above him and once De Wolf gets his act together that will drop him again. Success in the 250's(125) has never guaranteed success in the 450 (250).

I would consider anything they put out in public as him playing up his public persona...which, again, I genuinely hope, is just an act (and that he isn't like this in real life)...But I could very easily be wrong...who knows.

I like Deegan but damn if you’re going to talk a bunch of shit and can’t back it up, then you gotta be able to take the heat.

Jett is an alien. I think Deegz can get to Hunters speed but lm not sure he will ever beat Jett if Jett gets his start and just takes off

I can live with that. I was hoping I didn't come across shitty. I just follow MXGP as much as I follow the US side. But I do follow the European amateur side more then the US.

Danger Boy should definitely spend less time reading comments and more time reading classics.

If you watch their Deegan video just after Pala Brian basically took credit for all the fans that were there.  He said we did our job, the place is packed.   Lol

Their whole crew is just a circle jerk telling each other how great they are.   He was battling Justin Cooper in practice at the Farm and they all thought that equalled the "speed to win."

Now we will see what he does with Lucas Coenen who is a year younger than Haiden.   And he isn't even racing outdoor specialist Roczen or Tomac.   But he's a beast, just ask him, he'll tell you.
