Since there isnt a thread yet.. its Erzberg this weekend! Actually started already today.
Carson Brown is back and will be lining up again this year.
For the first time ever, electric bikes will be allowed to participate. A pretty historic moment for the event. It'll be interesting to see how they perform. There are 43 electric bikes entered in total, with roughly 90% of them being Stark Vargs. Graham Jarvis will be riding his own Jarv-E bike, which he helped to develop.
We'll also see the STARK Factory Team fielding four riders: Eddie Karlsson (SWE #21), Toby Martyn (GBR #45), Cooper Abbott (USA #65), and Sébastien Tortelli (FRA #59).
Manuel Lettenbichler has dominated Erzberg in recent years, so it'll be interesting to see whether he can extend his winning streak or if someone can finally dethrone him.

The main race is this Sunday June 6 for those too lazy to look
Looking forward to watching sunday. Hopefully it is more of an even playing field this year instead of allowing only Mani to pre ride the course or giving is Dad a media vest so he can point out lines in Carls Diner etc.

Its funny cause Mani passed Bolt last year at carls dinner using the same lines and no one was assisting him.
Others can ride parts of the track pre weekend too. Listen to Harts interview, he rode there now multiple days, also uploaded half an hour gopro footage yesterday legit called "Pre Riding Erzberg" lol. Brown even got 1:1 sessions at carls dinner last year before the weekend.
The assistance was 2 or 3 years ago, same with the pre riding. There were enough riders/teams complaining about it that I believe last year was better. When I talked to one high level Pro about it there were several riders not happy about it. As Mani has proven over and over, he doesn't need the help to win this races.
Bucket list event for sure. One day when I when the lottery I’ll ride the event.
Seb Tortelli still got it!
He'll also race the prologue tomorrow to get a better taste of this.
I'm hoping for way better coverage of the race this year. I feel like we missed a lot of it last year. Also chug an entire beer when the commentator busts out the phase" break out the abacus and do the metrics"! He's said it at every event for years!
Mitch Brightmore for a podium and I reckon Toby Martyn could surprise a few people.
Prologue day 1
The favorites are in the top3, Seb Tortelli is a very solid 5th ahead of Carson Brown in 6th.
Stark EnduroGP riders, Herbreteau and Sans, are 11th and 14th, sandwiching Mitch Brightmore and Trystan Hart, Jonny Walker 16th, Theo Kabakchiev 17th.
Toby Martyn is 18th way ahead of his Stark Hard Enduro teammate Eddie Karlsson in 25th.
Cody Webb 26th, Cooper Abbott 30th.
Graham Jarvis on his own electric Jarv-E is 259th, probably paying for lack of power.
Tomorrow is prologue day 2, the race is on Sunday, I think Tortelli sits it out, he's doing great (especially with so little enduro experience) but will probably just enjoy watching his riders.
I watched Seb’s helmet cam and he was flying. Can’t believe he beat Carson and shocked how fast Verona and Sanders were when comparing times.
Sunday is the 7th, so which is is it?
Agree on all counts
I was expecting more performance out of the Jarv-E. Jarvis is currently in 251st after the first prologue qualifying session. The bike apparently only goes 62mph? He's giving up 30+mph in the straight sections. 3 minutes slower overall. Has anyone ever finished from the 6th row?
Pit Row
I think those bikes are more like a Surron maybe? I haven’t checked them out too much.
I can’t imagine being on those hills with rocks in the roost being flung everywhere by the bikes ahead of you..yeeouch!!
yes
Jarv-E is supposed to be designed for hard enduro so it's smaller and lighter than a Varg with less power and less range but the frame and suspensions are up for some serious hard enduro.
Jarvis is doing ok with it in Hard Enduro World Championship, probably not where he would be on a gas bike but the bike is up to the task.
He could fare better on Sunday than in the high speed prologue for which it's severely underpowered.

Jarvis improved to 63rd today!
He gained one and a half minute!
Curious if that was pure riding or if he tweaked the bike to get more power i'(in case he went a bit too conservative on day 1)?
He's said previously that he designed that thing to have massive torque and agility for hard enduro. Erzberg is pretty unique in having a high speed section like the prologue. I'm interested to see how he rides Carl's Diner.
For sure the real test of bikes (and riders) is on Sunday!
Carson Brown flew to 3rd overall today, impressive.
He was 5th overall in last year's prologue and will again be fastest qualifier lining up for the main race Sunday.
Yeah but he's in the booth for the second half of the race, he's really good calling races.
