As far as American MX being cooked - Naw - it's solid, just different -

We’ve heard the same thing every year forever.

There’s only one best place to be for moto and everyone knows where that is.  There will be new kids coming up in the US as always. We also love having new fast kids from any other country come here to race.

Cooked? Please…

The worlds changing, most USA sport leagues are seeing more international players, it become more evidident in single sports vice team sports. USA still produces top talent, but so do other regions around the globe and now they sre trying to compete agsinst the best and make more money, which makes the USA the place to go. Like everything else, follow the money.

In MLB, tons of high level Japanese players are leaving the Japan league to come play in America because it’s widely recognized as the highest level in the sport. It’s cool because they want to play amongst the best and at the highest level. I would be happy that we don’t have the opposite problem where all our top guys want to leave and go race in other countries. We are lucky.

I wonder if there are threads about “American baseball being cooked” on baseball websites. Are there huge dissertations on why Ohtani is better than Judge? Is the American system failing? Or are baseball fans not that dramatic

That has been discussed for years

The world is much bigger than the United States. It's not surprising that when the most popular avenue of professional racing happens in the United States that you have people from all around the world racing it. I think it's really silly to think or expect that only Americans should be at the top of the totem pole in what is essentially the pinnacle of the sport.

An American just won the 450 MX championship a couple years ago. An American just won the 250 MX championship the past couple of years. Diversity makes the sport great and pitting the best of the best from around the world produces better racers. You can't always expect the local boy to win on what is essentially a global stage.

An American just won the 450sx championship.

Embrace the nostalgia! After 50 years we're back to seeing who's going to be, "First American". 😂

MARTY TRIPES, who started the Trans-AMA series on a factory Yamaha, finished as first American at Saddleback on a C-Z. Plenty of concentration and steady riding enabled the 17-year-old to outlast several Europeans and the rest of the Americans. His style is uncannily conservative; he never appears to be in a hurry.

The C class at Loretta's is completely irrelevant to the pro level of the sport. C class sandbaggers are kids who never had a prayer to begin with and you're never going to stop moto parents from mortgaging their homes to go down that road.

I think Jeremy McGrath would disagree with you on that one.

I remember walking around the Holiday Inn parking lot with Marty Smith at Rio Bravo.  He walked up to Tripes and said, "What happened to your face...catch it in a door?"  They all loved the burn.
