I am laughing my ass off! This dude must be living life right as through out the night he missed all but one incident and motored to a sixth place. this is bigger than anyone expected as there is some top drivers in here that did not far so well but Travis missed all the carnage and brought it home in sixth, very impressive!

I wonder if it get's under RC's skin any yet, thinking about Travis invading his territory or stealing a little spotlight?

225 laps...big hitters from all over the country in the race....Pastrana's first stock car race...after but two days of testing (one in Fla and one earlier in the week at Irwindale)...practice at Irwindale was the first time he was on the track with other cars...6th place is stunning.

Remember, Travis did the rally cars for quite a while at the top level, that had to help.
But Ricky.........
They put RC's radio to Mark Martin on the air during his first car race.
I remember hearing RC ask, "Do I use the clutch when I shift?"
Don't get much greener than that.

There is no spot light to steel. RC might be the goat of MX but Pastrana is a rock star.

Nobody knows who the hell Ricky is outside of the MX world.

RC can't carry Pastrana's jock outside of the MX industry. TRUE Story.

RC did some local FL races at New Smyrna before stepping up so he had a little more race seat time. The drivers hated him coming in with huge budget and top equipment and they took him out every chance they got.

Travis drove great and was fast the whole race. The media loves TP but I am afraid they are painting a huge target on his back......like RC had.

Not sure "hated him" is fair.
Jealous?
Sure, who wouldn't be, but "hate?"
I don't think so.

From what I saw, and I did go to a few of RC's early races, everyone knew who he was and respected him for it, they were jealous of his budget and opportunities, but understood it.
The races I saw, RC usually took himself out, not the other way around

Probably is a lot of jealousy. When Carlos Serrano started racing NASCAR late models he won the main is his third start...then got Taco Bell as a big $$$ sponsor...and won a lot more. There was a lot of rumbling among those who had raced cars for a long time that he did not deserve it...and that resulted in some interesting on-track incidents. The result of those was that the other guy usually had a lot of damage to repair.

The reality is that anyone who has been through the bump and grind of your average MX first turn drama or a SX main is absolutely fearless when surrounded by a steel cage.

TP will do just fine if anyone leans on him....

I really like Travis and I hope he does well in his new racing adventure. With that said, I didn't see any names in that race last night that rang a bell with me. I don't follow NASCAR that closely so it could be my ignorance of the sport.

Those drivers are from a development series, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series.
There's an East and a West, that race was a combined race.
Many of those drivers have been at it for years and will be there forever.
Some names have come from it, like Joey Legano and Matt Kobyluck, who are now racing the bigger NASCAR series'

Kobyluck was there last night Dave and has never raced above the K&N Series.
In fact, last night may have been his last race as his sponsor is leaving.

I think MX helps a lot with avoiding crashes when you get into a stock car. I dont know if its just because in mx youre taught to look far up the track or what? I know that in my own racing I am always looking far up the track to see where the trouble is starting and where it is going to end up. That way you can make a decision of where you need to point the car to clear stuff.

If it has a motor ill watch it. TP being in there just gives more of a reason to watch it! 3 and 4 wide in corners and he held his line perfectly. Dude has serious skills when he puts his mind into it.
