Certain folks are bemoaning the fact that MXGP is (arguably) down to a two man title chase. But this isn't your typical 2 man chase. In '23 and '24 it was Prado/Febvre and Prado/Gajser and no one else. This year it looks like Herlings and Coenen, but Gajser, Febvre, Dewolf and Vialle are gonna mix things up at the top.

Were you a star on This Old House?
Coenen will bag it barring injury. That being said, the points in MXGP are a little more confusing to me but it’s also easier to make up large points gaps in just a couple rounds
Coenen has just become one of those riders who just seems to shit points. Those guys are tough to beat.
It’s a 1 man chase. Coenen will win it, and most likely every round. Not sure what the mystery is?

If Herlings is to have any chance he has to start winning qualifying races or he will lose 10pts every round
Moto scoring is the same as the nationals but you can earn up to ten points in the Saturday qualifying race.
It’s only 7 rounds into a 19 round series. A lot of racing still to come.
Ya exactly, we have seen it many times in MXGP. That 10 point qualifier is awesome. Nobody is ever out of it.
As the Nationals should be.
Don't count out (or shit on) the Bullet.
It's a moot point unless the Nationals go back to a 2 day format and start doing qualifying races. In any case, while I get that the FIM is trying to incentivise riders to actually try in the qualifying races I'm not on board with the championship being decided on qualifying race points.
Actually, if he finishes second he'll lose 1 point.
