I like VW vans, especially the older ones that have not been restored. There are a lot around here that are restored to better than new. I mean, they are absolutely perfect, not so much as a fingerprint on them or a grain of sand inside. Absolute museum pieces that have had the soul sucked right out of them. I can’t stand them, whatever stories that van had to tell got erased with fresh upholstery and every single part meticulously polished. Blech…. I’d rather see a beat up looking “survivor” with hundreds of stories to tell. I had one for my Baja vehicle after my Land Rover. I swear the thing was just as good off road and you could sleep in it, win win

Our brother in law bought one to fix up and "restore" I suggested while it was still in the process of having it done lets have a paint party and let the kids paint peace signs and flowers, waves, whatever they want all over it since at some point it was going to the body shop to get a paint job that cost more than when the van was new anyway. Nope. No fun allowed, this was a serious project. He sold it before it was done. A few perfectly restored vans is cool. 50 out of 50 perfectly restored vans is bore....ring.... jmho ✌️😁
