I just watched the 2nd MX2 moto from France off my DVR machine.  Man that was a boring race, until the end.  At the 21:50 point left in the moto the leader Janis Martins Reisulis from Latvia gets a pit board sign "DOING GOOD". That seemed strange to me that the message was not in his native language.

Not sure who's his mechanic but chances are he doesn't speak Latvian

Most likely, his pit man does not speak Latvian

The dynamic between Herlings and Lucas is starting to get really interesting.

The majority of the riders in the factory teams will have a mechanic with a different nationality then their own nationality.

The once FMOTP vet vs the new young star, a calculated rhythm vs blazing speed, wily tactics vs youth and enthusiasm……all that.
While I think Lucas has a touch more pace and is a phenom on the rise, what Jeffrey is doing is equally impressive, he rode a brilliant race in the second moto yesterday.

lets be honest, the track was horribly one-lined, especially for the 250s.

Outside of being one lined it was awesome to watch. It looked like such a hard track to ride. Riders were on edge of pushing without crashing.

Yes, that had to be one of the worst one-lined tracks that we have seen on the MXGP trail.

The first turn and exit  layout was terrible.

This weekend won’t be much better.

Sadly it won't but at least we got Kegums the next weekend.

Teutchentel is just worse every year with the ruts. I understand they try to rip it to create lines, absorb water and keep the speed down but it is like deep ruts for the full lap. Not a fan of this one for spectating

Dumb Question.  How come the WMX class at the French MXGP can get 40 riders on the line but the MX2 and MXGP classes only gets 35 and 30 respectively.

Not dumb at all.  I asked the same thing on page #2.

Because for riders who at most races will finish outside of top 20 in MXGP there is more budget to be found doing national races then go to GPs.

Roan van de Moosdijk (who actually was top 10 this year at sardegna) explained that pretty decent in a gatedrop interview last week: He can make money at the German championship which is better then having no salary at MXGP.

In MX2 its due to EMX250. Yes they did not race this weekend, so in theory free to ride MX2, but they allready do 14 races so its not in the budget for most to do an extra mx2 race in France.
