So things are looking up, good to see that some of the stroke effects are subsiding, that really good to see at this stage! Im really glad to hear this news, also your post shows how people with different views can still come together for a common good! Stay strong! You and your Mom got this!!💪🙏🫶
Glad to hear she is making steady progress. It takes time and her drive to heal sounds really good.
All I can say is that reading these messages really topped off an awesome day… Noted re questions and getting involved in trying to help her during visits.
She spoke two clear words in response to me and it was amazing.
Thanks everyone! Can’t wait to go see her again tomorrow.💪😌❤️💃

I love it!!!!!!!!!!!
I filmed and walked through all the rooms in the house, out to the front and back yards, filmed the gardens, her car, all while calmly explaining what everything was on the video.
I’ve been showing her pictures of everyone including my doggo and she’s responding so well to it (big smiles).
Great to hear your mom is progressing in a positive way. ❤️
Tell Mom she’s got a pretty big Fan Club in the U.S.A. And give her a hug for us…
Remind her, it’s from waaaaay across the sea and it’s full of hope, love and cheer.
Niccce Greenie…❤️
UPDATE: My late brother’s kids went to see mum last night and she lit up like you wouldn’t believe. My nephew looks like his dad and she was mesmerised, she wouldn’t let his hand go and just constantly looked at him. She was constantly touch my nieces hair too (she was never a fan of her dying her hair).
Tomorrow my sister’s youngest is going to see her with her great granddaughter so hopefully she has yet another amazing day.💪😌❤️💃
How is your Mum doing Ezza?
She slept a lot today but looked lto be having the best, most relaxed, sleep she’s had in the last 11 days. The nurse said she had a good morning and was pretty alert.
They put her in a much quieter room and she’s next to a window. She has some nice flowers (her mum and dad were florists) and things that are familier… We’re going to print a heap of photos to put next to her bed tomorrow.
Thanks for asking Boom, it means a lot.💪😌❤️💃
Dude hearing how well its going for what it is is awesome.
Just caught up on the updates from the last week and I’m so happy to hear things are going in the right direction, still wishing the best for you guys and looks like things are progressing really well!
Thank you so much guys. Here’s a copy/paste of the message I sent my best mate tonight:
Hey brother, hope you had a top day.
I went and saw mum on my own this morning and it was bloody amazing! Then Carole and I went up this arvo and it was even more amazing!
Took both pairs of her glasses up (one for reading or looking at pics and vids on the phone, and her distance ones) and she was stoked!
She said 'I love you' both times I left and is replying to things with 'ok' 'yep' 'oui' (yes in French) 'no' and really trying to speak.
We put Better Homes and Gardens on and she was legit interested in the backyard they were showing and even tried to say it was a nice garden in French.
Saw a picture of Mika and went "aaawww" and smiles when I say stuff that's intentionality humorous!
Fuck today was awesome brother!
💃
That's great to hear Ezza! Good signs all around!
My sister’s youngest was able to visit with her daughter this morning. Mum absolutely loved it and it was an amazing morning. Seeing mum wave goodbye when her great granddaughter (14 months) waved brought tears to my eyes.
Thé day fell apart after that. Not for mum.
💪😌❤️💃
Thats awesome news, sounds like you mum is kicking ass. More strength and prayer to her.
How ya doing? How did your day fall apart?
Pit Row
So glad to hear all of the positive progress, Ezra!!! 🙏🙏❤️❤️
I can’t go into it sorry Boom. I’m trying to be as positive as possible and I’m putting it behind me.
I struggled big time through the last part of yesterday.
One of my nieces called me so that helped. Today is a new day and I’m going to see mum with good energy and vibes.
Thanks again everyone. These messages definitely lift my spirit.
💪😌❤️💃
It's more than OK to fall apart here and there - it is your mum after all.
Strokes run in my family - I hope you get lucky with her recovery, hearing your feelings about your mother,I know that you already have.
I wish life wasn't so hard.
UPDATE: Well, today’s visits erased all the negativity from yesterday.
Mum was a bit “off” this morning but she has a chest infection and is possibly aspirating. She had an X-ray this morning and as of tonight there was still no report from the nurse… That is the only thing today that I’m not thrilled about.
I still managed to do a bit of physio with her and she was loving the ice chips (not allowed to try and feed her the gel while she he’s this infection).
My sister in-law works at the hospital a couple of days a week so we caught up and she came to see mum and shed a tear when we left. They didn’t get along the best as they were constantly competing for my brother so it’s nice to see that the love is there after about 37 years of ‘side-eyeing’ each other.😁😊
The second visit went even better even though the infection is clearly bothering her. My sister printed out a heap of photos and she was loving looking at them. She wanted some more ice chips and had lots of smiles laughs.
Today was an amazing day. Thank you again for all the prayers and well wishes everyone. It means a lot.
💪😌❤️💃
Praying for you Ezza, your sister and your entire support crew and hospital staff, in addition to your mum! As already said, you're allowed to have some struggles through this brother, and learn as you go. It's a huge challenge what you're going through and you're doing great! I was present for much of my mum's last months, but one of my sister's was able to leave her job at the time was a huge blessing being around mum and my dad when they needed it.
UPDATE: Mum waa moved from the Neuro ward this morning into a ward that’s more geared towards recovery. It’s a much better environment.
I go and visit her in the morning for a few hours, come home to feed the dog and get some stuff done, then head back up in the afternoon for a few hours… Today was the opposite of the other day when I struggled as it was the morning that got me today.
It was just a couple of things I wasn’t too happy about but I’ve moved on and am just trying to keep a good energy. The second visit was amazing and I know this is going to happen often.
Writing these posts is honestly like my nightly therapy.
Thank you everyone for even taking the time to just read my posts and even just keeping my mum in your thoughts or prayers. It truely does mean a lot.
💪😌❤️💃
We are all pulling with you. I look forward to hearing the updates. My mom will be 87 in July and I see signs of her slipping. Keep your chin up my friend.
Thanks my brother. Give mum that extra hug and I love you.❤️
So stoked that things are moving in the right direction. Also, recovery is not a straight line of progress, sometimes there are some set backs. Don't let the minutia discourage you, think big picture!
Be strong brother! TM
I've been following this thread daily and I can see a trend setting in.... that your Mum is making great progress and I'm sending more prayers, strength and love to her.
We are all looking forward to the day when your Mum walks out of there to go home.
Keep us updated Ezza and again, you are a good man. Your Mum gotta be proud of you.
Thank you for the kind words Boom. Today was amazing and I have so much to say but just soaking it all in.
Mum would be absolutely pissed if she knew I was posting this photo from this evening but I just have to share.
I asked her to wave for her brother and sister in Belgium.
💪😌❤️💃
Ezza, when my mother in law had a stroke she was in the hospital for a while. There was a time she couldn't talk to us and you could just see the stress on her face. I would bring my service dog in to cheer her up and you could just see the stress melt away when Sydney was with her. She would relax so much, she'd even fall asleep. Funny thing, she had to have her hand on Sydney
