One guy left his bars loose and now there’s a recall?

There's been a few threads about this, already.

I'm not sure if it's the 'arc' of one or both clamps not matching the circumference of the 'Bars - upper and lower, or, simply say the top one having too long sections where the bolt goes through, so it can't clamp the bars / or, just the one side / bolt through hole section being too long. As in :  how many upper clamps have one bolt through side meant to bottom against the lower clamp, and thence the other, with a gap, being the 'clamping' method.

I've wondered if it could just be a few minutes  'file' job to rectify this - perhaps not, or, leaving said 'filing' to an owner or dealer, would expose Honda / Dealers to (further?)  litigation.

I remember there was a point in the 90’s to 00’s we used to sand off the paint from bar clamps and etch a few grip lines inside the clamps. It was a known thing that stock bar clamps were a liability.

Hate to sound like get off my lawn, but people know less about setting up a dirt bike now than ever before, while simultaneously they’re more powerful and more capable than ever before.

Is less than 0.05% of annual company turnover impressive?

Same as all the whipheads buying 500+ hp production dodges etc and shouldn't be driving more than a prius.

The fix is replacing the lowers only. Uppers dont get replaced.
