I get that non-denominational churches want a good band/ praise team, but man, if they would just turn it down just a little. They simply won’t budge on it. I don’t get it.

Most of the non denominational churches I’ve seen heavily rely on music rather than the sermon.

Also, sing loudly or you’re going to H-E-double hockey sticks!

Lol. It was kind of a “rant” thread. Being it’s sort of religious, it’ll probably get taken down or people getting philosophical and angry 20+ pages down the road.

There are some good churches (Lakepoint, Rockwall, TX) but the music is so loud that kids don’t want to come in and you feel like the bass drum makes your chest feel like it’s getting punched.

Why can't the guy (usually sometimes rare but sometimes a girl) turn down the music when they're at the stop light next to me or even 5 cars away? Or stuck near them in traffic? Are they really that deaf, they can't hear their own music in their own car?

TM,

disclaimer, yes I'm old

There was an episode on 60 min or 20/20... Traditional Chuches are on the decline...

" 1st Baptist " your town anywhere etc.

Isn't adding new members....

Alot of them have changed the name too something like

The Compass , The Well

and or added " The full blown Rainbow " to there Credo...

Born and raised Baptist here...

( Dad was a Decon , Mom was the treasure )..

I went to a Lutheran grade school

( You can drink , smoke and dance ) !?! Woot ! ( but seeing the Reverend pull up with an open bottle of wine in a brown bag didnt sit right...everyone else thought he was cool )...

Any who yeah The Music can be to loud..

( Oldschool the guy with a Bible,  khaki pants and a polo on in the land of blue jeans and bears jerseys with a big gulp in thier hand ) ....slight exaggeration on the big gulp lol

The ones that really get me, are the shitboxes with a system so big that the body panels rattle just as loud as the music.

Somewhat guilty as charged.

With over 3 grand in a sound system, and a big ass subwoofer, in my 4runner, it sounds like a concert hall inside.

Usually keep the volume low in town.

But it seriously gets cranked while road tripping.

Lived in Rockwall. Lakepoint dominates the religious landscape. In both good and bad ways. The power they exert cannot be overstated. God forbid you’re Catholic…

Negative.  David Wayne was the original lead singer until around ‘90. Metal Church’s been playing catch up ever since.

Has anyone here ever encountered a three wheeled vehicle on the road that doesn’t have the volume turned to eleven? WTH

Add, 12” Kickers that cost more than the POS they’re driving.

Yep. Lakepoint is a great church (a little big for my taste) but the one glaring issue is the music is just too loud. When we’ve gone, we’ll go in a little late and miss some of it.

Off in the corner of the main parking lot at the windrock ohv area, there's a primitive babtist church that on Sunday's blasts their sermons over loudspeakers.

The fire and brimstone echos all through the valley, and up the entire south side of the mt.

Rumor has it, you can occasionally see the minister walking inside with a gunny sac.

Please dont get me started....I live in Lagos...my neighborhood has been taken over by Nigerians and on every street corner is a church...a front for money laundering drug and prostitute money.

The noise that these fuckers make is insane, the church goers are brain washed....

My country is deteriorating fast..

I saw a guy in town on a Harley with one of those three feet tall front tires all chromed out. He was BLASTING that song “You can ring my bell…. ell…… ell”.   We were rolling thinking that has to be the stupidest song you’d ever want to hear while riding a motorcycle.  Especially while wearing the pudding bowl 1/2 helmet he had on 😄😄😄

Them days is over.

Do have  couple of youngin's riding their sport quads on the roads around here.

Might mosey down and ask if I can take one for a spin. 🤣😂

And...

Thinking about replacing these worthless mirrors for two more Memphis speakers, for a bit more mid range.

I used those mirrors daily!  Great view when backing out of parking spaces with vehicles on either side. They get a bad wrap but I luv ‘em!
