So you are saying you had to up your CC's to 500 to beat the 250 2 strokes? LOL I was gonna stay away, but just couldn't. Too easy. Any day you are ready to take on a CC for CC. I'm ready.

Ha! Okay maybe you're now fat. This is too hilarious. I don't care if you like your 4-stroke. I'm glad for you.

As a side note, there is only one reason why a 450F would be sleeved and put up to a 500cc. Anyone wanna guess? LMFAO. He needs a full double cc bike to beat the little 250cc 2 strokes.

when was the last time you have been to an am race?

all minibike classes are dominated by two strokes. when these manufacturers start developing the two strokes more....people will buy them. plus around here in so-cal people are finally realizing how much money it costs to maintain a four stroke. and the average guy cannot work on it himself. only time will tell.....but with the help from the manufacturers i would think two strokes will be fully back within 3-5 years
If that were to happen, expect the government to step it up again and push (again) to actually kill the 2-strokes off. If So-Cal is already coming around as you say, I would bet politicians and tree huggers are already taking notice. I think it is more likely that Yamaha drops the 125 and 250 within the next 3-5 years. Does anyone expect a completely redesigned and updated version any time soon? I think most 2-strokes out there in MX land come from the used market, which slowly gets closer to drying up every time someone buys one of these great deals. KTM and the small manufacturers will sell 2-strokes for a good long time, but I don't see any of the Japanese guys getting behind them again.....as sad as that is.

For the guys that don't support the 2 Strokes, you should be riding a quad.
2 Strokes are the heart of MX, and 4 strokes just sound like shit. Smile

Fact : Bears eat beets, Battlestar Gallactica.

Fact 2: My son , on Doc's CR500AF, blew by 500GUY (450 Guy?) on his CRF

450 at Grinding Sticks Raceway in PHX last Friday.

Fact 3: Jay is a true friend and a wonderful guy, as far as Diesels go, he's

brilliant, in regards to his two-strokeology? He needs laxatives. Many.

Aren't diesels basically 2 strokes? They're so clean too.

stick to being the slickem guy because you are out of your element.

Face it , 4 strokes are for people who can think

and no Diesels for the most part are not 2 strokes

No, OLD 2 stroke diesels are history. All modern diesels are 4 stroke Wink

This is the true story of how my friend Kyle got back into racing and is now back out of it. Kyle is 24 y.o. and rode as a young kid on 50's .

Kyle wanted to get a bike, any bike and get back into riding. After going to the races a few times, he told me that he was no longer interested in buying my 125 because the 4 strokes are so much better that everyone is riding them.

I said "whatever you do, stay away from the early Kawasaki and Suzuki 250f's. I have read alot of bad stuff about them."

2 days later Kyle says "I found a 250f that I'm gonna buy. Its in really good shape and I have enough cash to pay for it."
"What is it?"
"A Kawasaki."
"(sigh), what year?"
" '04. I know what you said, but my friend has one and I rode it, and its fast and he says he never has any problems. So I'm gonna buy it."

Kyle rides all day Saturday and Sunday for 3 weeks. Then there was some minor problem with the bike, and they decided to rebuild it (themselves).

Next time out to the track, the back makes it about 3 laps and grinds to a halt.

They take it to a dealer and dropped big money getting it put back to running condition despite the fact that I told them to sell it for parts and buy a 250 two stroke while they still had a little money.

"No. This bike runs good! I rode a YZ125 the other day though, and loved it. But I want the power of the 4 stroke."

"whatever."

Around this time his dad picks up a used 2007 YZ250f from the dealer that is working on the Kawi engine.

It took longer than he expected, but he got his KXF back from the dealer and blew it up, again, the first day at the track.

He ended up selling it to a damn pawn shop or something, for, I think, a couple of hundred bucks, just because he hated the bike and wanted to get rid of it.

He starts riding his dads Yami, and his dad picks up a used CRF450.

Long story short, they blew the Yamaha motor twice, and right now his dad is making Kyle foot the bill this time around.

Now Kyle is back to wanting to buy one of my 2 strokes, but doesn't have the money right now. So he just is out of racing all together.

I'm sure there are plenty of other stories out there like this.

NOTE: Both 250f's the purchased were used, and were probably hammered to shit by the first owner.

That story has more to do with being a dumb ass then about 2 strokes or 4 strokes.

If kyle does nt have money to buy a bike, do you think he has money to repair your bike if he wads it up or blows it up! I ve seen friendships end because someone used a buddies bike, only to break it , crash etc and hand it back not offering to take care of the problem!

I think jay had his reel spool up on that cast. Bad enough that the bobber and bait smacked him in the back of the head hard enough to get his thinking screwed up.

Yup, I once saw a guy put a bottom end bearing into his 2-stroke with a ball-peen hammer.

It's not always the bike's fault that it blows up.

I do mine differently, but have seen others do it with hammers, by heating them up and then hitting lightly with one of those. bearings almost fall into place, so if he heated the case and was just tapping the outter ring with the flat side, he should have been ok.
