As for Phoenix if he was playn headgames, so was RV, they where in agreement that it would take a mistake by one or the other to win. RC predicted the same, it was a track you had to slow down on to go faster.
As for the original question, I'm not sure how anyone can doubt RV. He has proved he is fast on the lites bikes and now he is proving it on the big bikes. What more can people ask for?
There's a defense mechanism called denial. Some people stay in it and warp reality to accommodate their beliefs. Being flat out honest with yourself, like your request to a particular individual in this thread, is sometimes difficult to accomplish...
3rd year in the 450 class...
only crashed out of 1, and that was at the end of it.
Outdoors are a different story. The battles between James and RV OUTDOORS would be the absolute sickest
He really has not had to pass anybody yet which is a good thing.
With regards to coming through the pack, from what we've seen so far, I think the only guys he would have a battle passing would be Bubba and Canard. The other cats need to step it up.
Judging from your posts, It appears anyone not named James Stewart should just quit the sport. Your life must suck... sorry.
Pit Row
That being said, there's little doubt that Stewart could have clicked into that extra gear if circumstances dictated. And the James of 05-09 might have done just that. But we may be witnessing the new & improved JS, one who carefully calculates each lap and realizes that a win by 1 second is still a win. Plus he seemed cognizant of RV's actions, and felt that Ryan would likely throw the bike down while attempting to reel in his competitor. Which is the exact tactic Ricky used to defeat James for his fourth and fifth SX titles.
In other words, he can make up new laws of phycics according to the circumstances, if he so desires. OK.
And this is all based on two facts:
Blown ACL - If I remember right he had been riding for ages with a torn ACL and he reaggravated it - correct me if Im wrong? Eitherways, wasn't a hot headed move.
Snapped tib fib - Freak accident on a questionable section of the track that also spew off Tedesco.
Before these two instances he was doing just fine wrapping up championships.
