Then you'd be bitching about the lack of E-Start 😂

No. I am a practice princess and occasional racer on my kickstart 2003 CR250, and before that CR500. I wouldn’t complain if it had e-start but wouldn’t be a decision maker.

GPX makes exactly what you want.

NEW FSE250S: $3999.99 - $4099.99 — GPX Moto USA

Let’s add lightweight.
That GPX Curb Weight: 271.2lbs

Frankly an air cooled lightweight two stroke with modern chassis, the clutch only cover we’ve had for years, compact engine like modern 4 strokes, electronic adjustable powervalve- would be real appealing. Kickstart would be ok.

Good price, good performance, good weight - you only get to pick two

I didn’t say anything about price but I guess it was inferred from the prior comments. I’d take lightweight and performance.

I don't hate those - if I am honest, wish it was 100cc bigger.  But at $7k, tough pill to swallow, I'd rather give Honda $8k for something sim.  Looks like it uses decent components, Brembo and Sachs, assuming it's real and not knockoff.

I looked it up. They are hand made in Portugal. Don’t appear to be a copy of anything else out there.

Cheap, less technically advanced bikes are great fun if everyone riding together is on one. You don’t want to be on a crf230 when everyone else is on a crf450 or similar

Depends on where you are riding I guess - I wouldn't take a CRF230, but I'd pick a 25 year old XR250/400 10/10 times if we are riding rocky technical trails.

True but a handful of friends all on 230's is some of the most fun I've had on dirt

Unfortunately no that one was sold in '89. I wish I still had it and the JT Bad Bones gear, and the dog.

Nice- ‘87

Pretty sure Bader Mannah (sp?) was on one of those.

Kinda tired of talking about Honda XR's in a Kawi two stroke release thread.

I wanted one of these new back in 89 but was a poor teenager. About 25 years later I finally made it happen. The bike was roached beyond belief when I got it. Even fully restored with new OEM crank kit, plated cylinder and wiseco piston, boyeson reeds... it was still pretty dang slow compared to my '01 RM125 I had around this same time.

She looked absolutely amazing. Sold it to someone in the UK, hopefully it's still being ridden and raced today.

The JT reboot is pretty stylish.

This was my very first 250cc two stroke.. 1997 KX250.

A lof seat/graphics companies in the 90's offered integrated packages that had the graphics run the full length of the seats. It was okay but the seat was very slick and smooth.

That literally looks like pajamas that a high school stoner would wear to school paired with this.

I like that it's not predominantly logos.

The original is all-time. I’m only 36 and I would run almost any JT gear over what’s out there now.

1988 I think.. first year with green frame.  The fork sliders look nice, too bad they had to hide them with the plastic fork/disc guard.

not sure of the track tho

Yeah there was a firm release date and photos, it was a few pages back.

Don't listen to the trolls. There isn't a confirmed release date. Many in the industry think it will be towards June....

Wow! That is awesome. ‘89 was the year for Kawi. Sure, they had a boxy design but they were so good and so easy to ride.

I would rather have seen Kawi go back to the slim design of the ‘87 instead of the bulky design starting in ‘88. But the 88s were so easy to ride.

I rebuilt (not restored) a 1987 KX250 and loved how blade thin it was.

IMO, the One Industries graphics were the best on that generation of KXs.  Even though I recently owned an 06 KX250, my top choice is a 94-98.  I should have never sold my 96.

My 97 and later 99 KX250 were two of the best dirt bikes I've ever owned. They both handled great and had a good low to mid powerband that was easy and fun to ride.

The bike in my avatar is a 07 KX250 fully restored with 88 style graphics designed by me on my computer (and green frame to boot). I could never gel with that bike for some reason.. it just handled poorly. The engine was insanely fast.  Those two combined did not make me feel comfortable on it.
