I agree, its a dumb question to ask any rider while they are on the podium. That being said, its no big deal... It just adds more interest for the fans that don't know much about it. The casual fans will know there was no protest if they follow the series close enough.
A professional broadcasting team would have no problem issuing an apology.

The point is......it's the media who threw that question at James....not Just Erin. And if you were looking for an apology , the media people should be the ones to give it. BUT.....you'll be hard pressed to get anything like that out of them. They are there to do their stupid reporting and make it interesting for the monster truck crowd / fans. Who knows.....maybe next week either Ralph or Erin will throw out an apology of some sort......stranger things have happened.

Notwithstanding that, tt was a technical question that Erin botched; one word would have made the question much less threatening. I think we have been too quick to assign intent to the producer when it may not have been there. James, on the other hand did a great job of validating what it was she supposedly was insinuating.
Furthermore, there's nothing wrong with speculating about the technical purpose of new equipment; that's part of what makes Motocross such a great sport. JS7 is supposed to be at the top. People at the top will always be eyeballed more. Hell, look at the shitstorm Armstrong has been wading through.
This whole traction control story is a fucking joke. They see Chad and James are buddies now so that takes away the drama there. Then they see that James is cool with Dungey after the Nike show and all they have left is the TC story and a so called rivalry with RV that hasn't even started yet.
Like I said before, if they have ANY class they will issue an apology.

Your first mistake: expecting class and/or journalism from the people who broadcast supercross.
Your second mistake: expecting a reasonable discussion about that here
Your third mistake: taking the bait... but if you're having fun with it, have at it!
That statement is why the media has become what it is today. It's all about "creating" a story instead of reporting the facts and reporting on the actual story.
I said it before and I'll say it again, if they have any class they will issue an apology. If not, how can you really believe anything that they "report" on again?

I was actually hoping that at least someone on the broadcast team or associated with it would read the post and decide to take some pride in their craft and recognize their mistake. If they don't mention it again they simply say to the people "the stuff that we tell you doesn't mean shit." If they issue and apology they at least give you the idea that they have some journalistic integrity and want to bring you a quality product. An apology doesn't downgrade them it actually gives the more credibility IMHO.
